In 1989, a waiter found a stray golden retriever in the woods in Yosemite Valley. The dog carried a pine cone and dropped it at the man& #39;s feet. The man threw the pine cone, and the dog brought it back. The man kept the dog. He named him Buddy.
Buddy learned to shoot hoops. He was on @AFVofficial (hosted by Bob Saget!) and then on David Letterman& #39;s "Stupid Pet Tricks" segment. Buddy and his owner were on @Letterman three more times, including once with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Buddy became a halftime sensation. He had a nose for the ball. So much so that he ran onto the court into a playoff game and got carried away by ... @DennisRodman!
Front-page treatment!
Buddy made buckets on Full House, too, as a one-episode guest star as Comet. (There& #39;s Bob Saget again!)
All of that to say, Buddy was a real dog. And a very good boy.

In 1997, Buddy became a movie star. He splashed shots. He dished out assists. And his friendship with @KevinZegers pulled on your heartstrings. So, here& #39;s an adorable oral history of Air Bud.
