Many Africans have a strong dislike and distrust of Western medicine, this is after decades of abuse by Western medical teams, doctors, international health organisations and pharmaceutical companies. Here are some notable examples...
In 2000, Werner Bezwoda who was head of the Department of Haematology and Oncology at Wits University, ran experiments using very high doses of chemotherapy on black breast-cancer patients, without their knowledge.
In the 80s, the South African Institute for Maritime Research intentionally spread Aids in southern Africa, masterminded by Keith Maxwell, who was not a Dr. but ran a clinic in Putfontein, near Benoni where he did "research" about "a plague that would decimate black populations"
From 1990, Pfizer tested the drug Trovan on patients in Nigeria, eleven children died in the trial, the trial was part of an illegal clinical trial without authorisation from the Nigerian government or consent from parents
In 1994, the U.S, the CDC and WHO started testing drugs on HIV positive patients in Zimbabwe without informed consent of the subjects. 1000 babies contracted HIV even though effective medicine to prevent mother-to-child transmission was already in existence
In Rhodesia in the late 70s the contraceptive Depro-Provera was used as a population control measure by forcing African women living on white-owned farms to take it. This was stopped in 1981 after Robert Mugabe came into power
In Aug 1989, the South African government attempted to contaminate drinking water in South West Africa (now Namibia) with cholera bacterium to stop the country from gaining independence from the Apartheid regime
Do Africans have any reason to believe the West wants what's best for them and doesn't simply view them as guinea pigs, or worse trying to actively kill and reduce them?
