If I bake a loaf - even if it doesn’t turn out as I’d hoped - then no matter what else happens that day, I’ve achieved (and learned) something - because bread is everything: sustenance, survival, science, culture, religion, joy... as well as occasionally deeply frustrating...

Seemed only fitting to conclude this thread with an experiment - a little long-rise loaf for my mum, risen overnight in the baking tin.
