This is my little Somerset garden
I'd love a bigger garden, but I know lots of people aren't fortunate enough to have a garden at all, so I can't complain
I still get lots of birds, so thought I'd make a photographic thread of the different species seen during lockdown

Seen first thing this morning, only the 2nd ever sighting in my garden, but unfortunately, it hid behind the guinea pig run on the lawn, so I couldn't get a photo of it!

Now it's Spring, the boisterous gangs of Starlings have stopped turning up en masse, but I still get the odd individual visiting, such as this one a couple of days ago. Smiling face with smiling eyes

18. Blackcap
Delightful warblers that have taken to overwintering in the UK, especially in the south, where they take advantage of food put out for birds.
For the first ever time, I've heard one singing from my garden in recent days!

19. Sand Martin
Another bird seen flying high over my garden, Sand Martins are the first Hirundines (Swallows & Martins) to arrive in the UK.
From underneath, the easiest way to tell them apart from House Martins is by their dark breast band.
