This is my little Somerset garden 😊
I'd love a bigger garden, but I know lots of people aren't fortunate enough to have a garden at all, so I can't complain
I still get lots of birds, so thought I'd make a photographic thread of the different species seen during lockdown🐦
Only rule;

All the pics in this thread were taken in my garden during the #Coronavirus lockdown. 🐦

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen
1. Goldfinch 😊

Had to start with a Goldfinch, as they're the most numerous birds to be seen in my garden! 😁

Have you seen a Goldfinch during lockdown?

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
2. House Sparrow 😊

Much excitement when I saw this male House Sparrow, the first I had seen in my garden for months!

Have you seen a House Sparrow during lockdown?

3. Blackbird 😊

Both males (in pic) and females are regular visitors, having a lawn is very important to many birds!
They're the most regular birds in my bird bath. 😊

Have you seen a Blackbird during lockdown?

4. Chaffinch 😊

A few males and females (in the pic) visiting the garden for the Sunflower hearts at the moment. 😊

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
5. Greenfinch 😊

Fabulous having 5 or 6 of these lovely Finches visiting daily, after they were hit badly in recent years by a virus.

Have you seen a Greenfinch during lockdown?

6. Woodpigeon 😊

Always amusing watching these birds chase each other about in and around my garden, trying to secure mates. 🐦

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
7. Collared Dove 😊

A pair regularly turn up in my garden, this one was sat on the top my swingseat yesterday, right outside the kitchen window. 😍

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
8. Reed Bunting 😊

This one is a male, but I've had both males and females visiting for the sunflower hearts I put out. πŸ˜€

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
9. Stock Dove 😊

Seen first thing this morning, only the 2nd ever sighting in my garden, but unfortunately, it hid behind the guinea pig run on the lawn, so I couldn't get a photo of it!

10. Starling 😊

Now it's Spring, the boisterous gangs of Starlings have stopped turning up en masse, but I still get the odd individual visiting, such as this one a couple of days ago. Smiling face with smiling eyes

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
11. Wren 😊

Cute little character at the bottom of my garden on the lawn this morning.

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
12. Blue Tit 😊

One or 2 pop in briefly, a few time a day, to nibble on my nuts.

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
13. Sparrowhawk 😊

Didn't get a photo, but ia male shot through the garden about an hour ago as I was packaging colouring books on my swingseat, scattering the finches!

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
14. Jackdaw 😊

Not had one of these small corvids land in my garden yet during lockdown, but they're constantly flying back and forth overhead, calling 'Chack, chack'.

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
15. Rook 😊

With a Rookery over the back of my house. these birds are always flying over, although they never land in my garden!

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
16. Great Tit 😊

An occasional visitor to my garden, I took this photo yesterday in my flowering cherry. It flew off a second later, just the 2nd time I've seen one during lockdown.

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
17. Buzzard 😊

They regularly soar above my garden, but they're always high up (This is a big crop!)

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
18. Blackcap 😊

Delightful warblers that have taken to overwintering in the UK, especially in the south, where they take advantage of food put out for birds.
For the first ever time, I've heard one singing from my garden in recent days! πŸ˜€

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
Sparrowhawk 😊

Already included in the count, now I have a photo of one flying over my garden.

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
19. Sand Martin 😊

Another bird seen flying high over my garden, Sand Martins are the first Hirundines (Swallows & Martins) to arrive in the UK.
From underneath, the easiest way to tell them apart from House Martins is by their dark breast band.

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
20. Robin 😊

Regular in my garden, but quite unusually for a Robin, is rather camera shy!

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
21. House Martin 😊

Fantastic that these birds are starting to arrive again!
Taken from my garden 5 days ago.

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
22 and 23. Peregrine Falcon & Kestrel 😊

Having a lazy moment laying on my swing-seat looking at the sky yesterday, when I saw this drama playing out between Falcons, very high above! The Kestrel (smaller bird) kept mobbing the Peregrine! Wonderful!

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
24. Herring Gull 😊

Often seen passing over my garden. I'm actually a Gull fan, wonderful birds!

#LockdownGardenBirdsSeen 🐦
25. Lesser Black Back Gull 😊

Just like it's close relative the Herring Gull, I often see these Gulls flying over my house. They never land in the garden though!
