In the current climate with a desperate need for Doctors, I'd like to draw your attention to the following correspondence I have received from a group of Doctors who are ready and willing to practice in our hospitals but are being prevented from doing so.

Part 1
'We are a group of hundreds of refugee doctors who are living in the UK. Currently, we are in the middle of the process of getting our registration to practice medicine. Alas our final licencing exam (PLAB 2) has been cancelled until July and could be cancelled again.

Part 2
'In light of the current pandemic of the cover-19 we need your support to put much more pressure on the General Medical Council (GMC) and parliament to make a swift decision regarding registration of refugee doctors living in the UK.

Part 3
'We are qualified doctors coming from crisis areas, so we have already faced massive challenges in our careers. Also, we have the drive, courage, knowledge, experience and language to deal with such crises.

Part 4
'Finally, we feel a massive amount of gratitude towards the UK for giving us sanctuary and refuge - we are desperate to give something back by risking ourselves and using our skills in the best way we can at this difficult time.
We are ready immediately.'

Part 5
I echo the sentiments of this letter and urge you to retweet this and support the desire of these brave and skilled Doctors to go onto the wards of our hospitals to help those suffering from coronavirus.
