Now, here's the interesting part.
When PM Modi announced PM-CARES on 28th March, the press release/appeal contained the account details for the fund including the SWIFT code of the bank.
A SWIFT code is only required for international bank transfers.

Then, on 30th March, PM Modi held a video conference call with Indian Ambassadors across the world.
In this call, he urged all Embassies to encourage & mobilize foreign donations to PM-CARES.
Suffice to say that until yesterday, PM-CARES accepted foreign funds.

Today, however, this is what the website of PM-CARES says.
It states that "account details for foreign contributions will be available later"
The SWIFT code for SBI is also now missing from the account details.
This suddenly happened after several red flags were raised.

Also, I read thru news reports & extracted info on donors to PM-CARES who have publicly declared the amounts.
Mind u - this does NOT include donations from people/anonymous donations.
The total raised in 3 days is 7314 crores - DOUBLE of what PMNRF currently has reserve.

The Finance Ministry also notified that PM-CARES is eligible to accept corporate CSR funds
A simple guesstimate would say that the amount would be way over 15,000 crores.
There's ZERO CLARITY on how these funds are being spent. Zero clarity on how it's given to states.

- Why did PM-CARES accept foreign donations for 2 days & then backtrack?
- Why was IT Act Section 80(G) amended if donations to PM-CARES were already eligible for tax exemption?
- Why have Govt. PSUs been made to contribute to PM-CARES?
PM-CARES is PURE organized theft.
