proof& #39;s for rial
wait, what& #39;s that speck beside the root symbol?
no one has noted that “proof& #39;s rial” is an anagram for “april foo& #39;s”

(i know it& #39;s a lame anagram but there were clues people)
By the way, it& #39;s a 45-year-old joke that (I think) first appeared in Martin Gardner& #39;s Mathematical Games column in the Scientific American. "Six sensational discoveries that somehow or another have escaped public attention", April 1975.
You can& #39;t say I didn& #39;t warn you.
There are probably a fair number of people who liked (maybe even retweeted) the tweet believing what it said based on its "popularity".
One thing I& #39;ve learnt from this: If a statement as easily verifiable as "this number is an integer" can fool people on April Fool& #39;s Day(!), it& #39;s less of a surprise what goes on in much messier situations (e.g. politics).
Finally, I appreciate people replying with "it& #39;s not true" etc, trying to "make things right". But if you don& #39;t notice/acknowledge the fact that it& #39;s a harmless joke, then I& #39;m afraid the joke is on you.
