This rush to online K-12 is going to heighten inequity and is totally not necessary. Learning is not linear. Just cancel the school year. Do not demand that we home school all our kids. My latest @CNNOpinion.

Rural kids in Illinois do not have broadband, @jodiscohen and @jsmithrichards found in a @ProPublicaIL / @chicagotribune collaboration. This cannot be fixed in a couple of hectic weeks in March. It has not been fixed. /4
We /are/ going to need resilient remote learning systems. @edyong209 wrote about a scenario in which Covid-19 recurs and prompts well-organized local shutdowns and quarantines.
