I also just got off the phone with someone who knows his stuff at @HealthyBoston. From an outbreak viewpoint, they& #39;re convinced it& #39;s unnecessary. @RogersonHouse is already doing all they can. The subtext is, I think, that we& #39;re taking tests from people who need them. (3 of ?)
This may be true. I don& #39;t think it is, and other experts have told me unequivocally it& #39;s not, but intelligent people can disagree. But I SHOULD be able to have answers. WE SHOULD be able to have answers. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THIS SHOULD NOT BE THE CHOICE. (4 of ?)
The reason testing is a problem in the first place is because there is NO ONE in charge. I had feelings, as you might imagine, when @realDonaldTrump announced yesterday that tests were no longer an issue. I just spent the two days after my dad died having to fight for the truth instead of grieving. And I think, thanks to the outstanding work of Councilman @MattOMalley, that we maybe have made a difference in Boston, and future families will have less confusion. (6 of ?)
But the federal government should be orchestrating this response, and they are totally unable to do so, because their leader is incapable of doing his job. For the love of God, I am a bisexual man who would take @VP over this. That& #39;s how desperate I am. (7 of ?)
But now, there& #39;s little to do but witness. And that& #39;s what I ask. As you are hit with overwhelm, as this starts to hit us all individually, if you can, BE A PAIN IN THE ASS. Argue for that test. Trust but REALLY verify, especially at care facilities. Call your electeds (8 of ?)
Look out for people who might not have power. Black and brown people, LGBTQ people, vets, and elders are all vat risk right now. And then: be out there telling your stories. Don& #39;t let this be quiet. Record this for history. Take notes. Use Twitter. Call reporters. Call electeds. What& #39;s clear to me after days on the phone is that NO ONE& #39;S IN CHARGE. The fault lies at the top. And he doesn& #39;t care. (9 of ?)
Our only hope is to get the truth out there. The only way out of this is for people to know the truth, to understand how deeply their leader has failed them. Tell the truth to as many people as will listen. (10 of ?)
