A lot of us are looking for stories to escape into right now

Publishing is still happening. We need books for the future.

Editors want books and are definitely acquiring, but know that many are adjusting to working from home and what that means for how they connect.

We're also all adjusting to industry changes:

- Amazon deprioritizing books
- Indie bookstores closing/bookstores reducing hours
- Major event cancellations
- Pub date shifts
- The general anxiety of the world

However, we're also celebrating the good things:

- Virtual events/author launches
- Deals being made
- Being able to see our friends and coworkers via video
- Online orders surging in bookstores

So the bottom line? Yes, publishing is still happening with some bumps along the way and some new things to plan for.
