We need to allow businesses to open and operate, and they can do so without spreading the virus, so long as they abide by SAFE protocols in the workplace. Here's how that can work: 1/x
1 Check temperatures of all employees daily. Send home anyone with elevated temperatures.
2 Put hand sanitizer at each entrance and exit. Encourage frequent hand-washing.
3 Work from home. Anyone who can work from home should work from home. Maximize tele-commuting. 2/x

4 Sanitize all touched surfaces frequently (at least 1x/day): Light switches, desks, counters, keyboards, vending machines, tools, manufacturing equipment, etc. Any surfaces that are touched should be sanitized. 3/x
5 Social distancing in office space. Have enough space between those at work at same time. Every other desk, every other cubicle, ideally 10ft between people. 4/x
6 Limit office attendance with staggered business hours and days . For example, Mon-Weds-Fri for one shift and Tues-Thurs-Sat for another so that an office is no more than half staff. Could split into 2 shifts, eg, 5am-1pm and 1pm-9pm, to further limit overlap in the office. 5/x
7 Wear masks. Wear masks on construction job sites and in factory or warehouse work, in the office, and while traveling, in public, or commuting. Where appropriate use and wear gloves and protective gear that has side-benefit of reducing virus exposure. 6/x
8 Avoid in-person meetings. Do a phone call, skype call or email exchange instead of an in-person meeting. Limit any meetings to under 10 people, and make as much participation and meetings virtual as possible.
9 Practice social distancing in meetings, min 6ft of separation per person. Use every other chair if you have a small meeting around a table. Prefer meetings outside to meeting in confined spaces. 8/x
10 Keep humidity up in the office, at 70% or higher. Don’t reduce temperature by AC under 73. Humidity and heat limits the virus.
11. Avoid travel, especially mass transit or plane rides with others. 9/x

12 Limit in-person customers in any store or office, for any customer-facing business. sanitize surfaces between customers, wear masks and wash hands to limit risk of spread via customers or customer-facing employees. 10/x
Do these 12 things and any business should be able to operate SAFE - Save America From Epidemics.
Then we can #ReopenUSA and flatten the curve, not the economy.

The business rules complement and follow the personal behaviors we need everyone to engage in:
- wear masks, wash hands, sanitize surfaces, practice social distancing
- test and isolate all cases and contacts https://twitter.com/patmcguinness/status/1244377343566766081

Travel rules should align as well:
1. All plane passengers should have their temperature checked and not be able to board if elevated.
2. Sanitize hands before and after any transportation ride – plane, subway, Uber/taxi ride, etc. 1/x
