Alberta had vast oil reserves that have been tapped for several decades. For almost the entirety of that time, the Provincial government has been conservative.
If conservatives were as fiscally smart as they tell us they are, Alberta would look more Scandanavian (1/8)
We would have world-class infrastructure. The best schools and post-secondary opportunities in Canada. Modern, fully-staffed hospitals and labs. No poverty, for children, indigenous persons, or anyone else. (2/8)
Facilities for long-term mental health care. An educated population. A diversified economy. Well-funded research. Lower crime levels. Higher GDP per capita. And a huge amount of capital invested in the Heritage Fund for those times when we really need to dip into savings. (3/8)

So where has conservative fiscal brilliance left us? Haggling with docs during a pandemic. Laying off thousands of education workers. Causing irreparable damage through cuts to our universities. Scrapping plans for a vital Provincial lab. Targeting special needs kids. (5/8)
Basing a budget on $50 oil when nobody else on the planet is betting on oil - which is now selling for less than $4/barrel. (6/8)
How many "promises" have the @Alberta_UCP broken as they penny-pinch to cope with a crisis that fiscally-capable government over the past 5 decades would have had us in good shape to weather? (7/8)
Conservatives are hopeless at managing the things they don& #39;t claim to be good at. And they are hopeless at managing the things they do claim to be good at.
They& #39;ve proved it. Beyond any doubt.
