How Dohyun from My First First Love deserved better: a much needed thread
FIRST OFF; a very good boy. ALWAYS tries his best. Kind hearted. Sees the good in others. Wants to make everyone around him happy even if itâs hard.
Dohyun isnât good with relationships and was always working his butt off with jobs to make money for himself and family. When him and Songi started dating, he was trying his hardest to make her feel special and do little things for her.
Tae-O shouldâve never scolded him or made him feel like a shit person for making small mistakes in a relationship that tae-o isnât even APART of. When someone makes a mistake, you donât make them out to feel like a shitty person. It was clear how regretful Dohyun was
After that, Dohyun always tried his best to take better care of Songi like getting her little gifts or walking her home more. EVEN when he was working those hella jobs. He always made an effort to put her first so she could be happy and Tae-o was still acting like a jealous boy.
Tae-o was WAY too protective over Songi. It came off possessive most of the time and was always attached to her hip when Dohyun clearly wanted to spend time with HIS own girlfriend.
A relationship goes BOTH ways. Itâs TWO people, not one. Whenever Songi was hurting, Dohyun was there for her. But when Tae-o got in the middle of their relationship and scolded him, Songi barely stuck up for Dohyun. But my boy just smiled through the pain
Dohyun only ever wanted to check up on Songi like a good boyfriend and make sure she was okay. Aka wanted her to tell him when she got home or what was going on etc. Like a normal relationship when thereâs healthy communication.
Songi wasnât putting Dohyuns emotions into thought whenever she was attached to Tae-o hip. I understand a good friendship, but you cannot babysit one person for the rest of their life. You canât hold their hand forever. Itâs not good to only rely on ONE person forever.
When Songi was going to help Tae-o meet his mother, she couldâve just told Dohyun the truth. Ofc, issues can be personal but there was no reason for her to sit there and stare at him when he was upset. She couldâve told him Tae-o was having major family issues and needed a friend
EVERY time there was an inconvenience in their relationship, Dohyun was the one to try and resolve things and make it better. Even if HE was the one hurt. He always put Songi first. RELATIONSHIP GOES BOTH WAYS PEOPLE. And men are allowed to get upset!!!! Men can get hurt too!
She shouldâve been there for him too. She couldâve helped reassure him and make sure he knew he was loved and important to her. Because he knew Tae-o had strong feelings for her and it was so bluntly obviously she had feelings for him too. Dohyun was only dragged on for the ride.
The ending for Dohyun was shit because he barely got any closure. Even AFTER the fight, he still bought Songi that bag for her stuff because he wanted to make things better! EVEN THOUGH HE WAS HEART BROKEN. HELLO???? He was putting her feelings first AGAIN!
They broke up and by the next ep, she was in Tae-o arms and Dohyun moved away. It felt like he didnât receive the proper closure he deserved. He was practically tossed to the side for the leads to get together. Meaning it was rushed or at least shouldâve happened earlier.
Dohyun deserved respect and growth. He was looked at like the villain because he didnât want to lose his first love. He was always trying his best but it was literally never good enough for them. He was just tossed to the side and that was that.
Dohyun deserved better and I will stand by this til I die !!! THE END.
