I know many of us are sad about the delay of the 2020 Olympics. Thankfully, I am quarantined and bored and have decided to put on...the Catlympics. #catlympics2020
The first event of #catlympics2020 was Monkey in the Middle. They were judged by a carefully-selected panel of their owners on Acrocatics, Grit, and Elegance. Nimbus was up first:
Next up was Comet, an up-and-comer who displayed fascinating techniques #catlympics2020
After a tense waiting period, the scores came back. Nimbus won by a hair, but now Comet has the fuel he needs for a revenge win in tomorrow’s #catlympics2020 event
Until tomorrow, the rankings are Nimbus: 1, Comet: 0 #catlympics2020
Night 2 of #Catlympics2020 was ⚡️magical⚡️ as we paid homage to Nimbus and Comet’s namesakes through...Quidditch
In the final 3 attempted scores of Nimbus’s trial, he missed 2 and saved 1 (one miss not pictured, I guess just trust me) #catlympics2020
Despite underhanded distraction attempts from his competitor, Comet saved 2 and missed 1. #catlympics2020
Nimbus and Comet are now tied 1-1 in these first-ever Catlympics. Tune in tomorrow to see who will break the tie. #catlympics2020
The #Catlympics2020 committee seriously considered omitting this next event, Toy Conveyor Belt (does the treadmill do to much of the work?) But we feel confident that true Catlympics fans will perceive the skill and passion Nimbus and Comet put forward here.
Comet went first. He achieved two of the three objectives:
☑️Get at least two paws on the Toy Conveyor Belt
☑️Acquire toy with mouth or paw
🔲Successfully carry toy off treadmill
#Catlympics2020
Nimbus’s attempt proved slightly more successful, as he achieved all 3 tasks with panache.

☑️Get at least two paws on the Toy Conveyor Belt
☑️Acquire toy with mouth or paw
☑️Successfully carry toy off treadmill

The #Catlympics2020 standings are now Nimbus: 2, Comet: 1. Until tomorrow, the battle rages on
Tonight’s #Catlympics2020 event is one of the fastest-growing sports in our apartment building: Extreme Puzzling
The objective: competitors must meaningfully engage with individual puzzle pieces, all while wreaking the most havoc possible. Nimbus was up first. After a great showing last night, he demonstrated a surprising lack of focus on the puzzle, preferring his own tail #catlympics2020
Those who have been following the sport of Extreme Puzzling will know that Comet came in as the top seed in this event, and he didn’t disappoint. He used both paw and mouth to grab pieces, then slept in the puzzle box for approx 3 hrs, halting all puzzle progress #catlympics2020
Night 4 of #catlympics2020 ends in a 2-2 tie. Until tomorrow, our Catlympians will be resting up for another day of intense competition. Goodnight, all you cool cats and kittens
After a lazy Friday afternoon, Comet and Nimbus were ready for our next #Catlympics2020 event: the 20-yard dash. The cats have a fraught relationship with the apartment hallway, only wanting to dart out when they are explicitly forbidden to do so. But tonight, they had free reign
Comet displayed a fascinating stop-and-go technique, but didn’t really work himself up to his typical gallop until the last few yards of the dash. He received a 6/10 from our panel of judges. #catlympics2020
Nimbus, lacking his typical focus, had to be lured out with a toy and failed to complete the entire circuit. He received a 3/10 from the judges, but also several very loving scritches for trying his best. #catlympics2020
For the first time in these #Catlympics2020, Comet has overtaken Nimbus, 3-2. Will his winning streak continue? Tune in tomorrow.
I lied about the next #Catlympics2020 event being today. The cats informed us they would like to rest up till Monday so they can attack week 2 with renewed vigor. This weekend, we’ll be releasing their Meet the Cathletes profiles.
