/n Sneak peek at just some of (there are dozens of publications, so can't fit them all in one graph) the new media data that @DavidRozado scraped
/n One of the interesting things about this graph is that NPR, WashPost, and NYT were the early recent trendsetters. Seemingly, the NYPost (which typically frequently mocks wokeness) responded to this trend and pulled ahead of everyone in 2019.
/n Excuse me, perhaps not everyone (I haven't checked the other publications. Just these 6)
/n
/n
/n
/n Tested 3 of the publications for this one
/n I suppose NYT leads the way when it comes to diversity?
/n Should I try fitting in more publications into each graph or do we agree that they'd become too messy to look at?

/n
/n Strongest correlated series here is NYT and WPost (r=0.956)
/n Apparently, there's never been more oppression in the world....you just have to read the NYT/WPost and open your eyes
/n
/n Yet another case where a term catches on first in liberal/left-leaning media before (notice the lag in the WSJ/NYPost trends)
/n I know the Million Man March was in 1995...but what happened in 1994?
/n Slavery on the rise (didn't we outlaw it hundreds of years ago??)
/n 'We need more empathy'
/n Most revealing thing about this chart is not so much an explosion in the usage of 'racial equity', but that the term, until recently, was never really used at all.
