So my passion for photography came from my dad! As many know almost 2 years ago he passed away after a long battle with kidney cancer! Before he passed away he converted may of his dads and brothers slides to a digital format. Unfortunately he did not get to his slides. 1/?
I am using this time off to finally convert his old slides to digital and thought I would share some with you! I will keep adding to this thread any photos that he took. He was an avid sports fan and loved to take photos where ever he went. This will be a fun journey!
He went to PSU and loved going to the games. I can& #39;t get over how much Beaver Stadium has changed. This was from the 1979 Pitt vs PSU game where Dan Mario lead Pitt to 29-14 win. #WeAre #H2P
Here is my dad on the Lion Shrine before his freshman year wearing his HS letterman jacket from Fox Chapel.
Some more Penn State football photos from from the 1981
Temple Band (10/3/81) PSU Win 30-0
West Virginia (10/24/81) PSU Win 30-7
Alabama (11/14/81) Alabama Win 31-16
More to come from the Alabama game...

The guy here is Bear Bryant the head coach for Alabama. The photo from the stands was taken by my dad the one on the right was taken by Joe Bodkin (assuming the guy dressed like Marty McFly in dads photo). This was the game Bryant won his 314th game tying him for the most as wins
So I found a reel that was from his HS day at Fox Chapel. Here is some for the 1978 HOCO game against Shaler. Fox Chapel High School has changed just a bit since 1978. The guy in the last photo is my grandfather who was the PA announcer for the Foxes until some time in the 90& #39;s.
He went on a trip to Stone Harbor, NJ just before his senior year. Stayed in that house and went to the beach with his friends.
I am also pretty sure that Fred Tavern has not changed their tee shirt design since.

This photo was one that I heard about many times. He found it great that number 99 was motioning to the visitor sideline that it was so far for the first, yet it was just a foot or so in reality. #WeAre
My dad labeled all the slides and some of the captions are funny. I specifically found this one funny! Let me know if you know what TV show this is from! It is balloon!
Characters from 1970...No real noticeable changes to my knowledge. Don& #39;t recall the Hunny pot on Pooh& #39;s head.
I heard many stories of the many spring training games he saw of the @Dodgers. I believe this is 1971 in Dodgertown
Some action shots of a @Dodgers vs @TokyoGiants

I really do come by my photo passion honestly...My Grandfather (yellow jacket with the camera) was a shutter bug. These are all of when my uncle was in the @USNavy. This is the USS Forrestal (CV-59).
On the way back they stopped off at @UVA. Scott Stadium really has changed since this photo. The capacity has increased by about 20,000 since this photo.
Some throwback Penguin Players...Lets see who can name them.
Also take note of the low glass that allows the fans to hang over.

Some family photos he took my grandparents celebrating their anniversary, then my grandmothers birthday, and my great grandmother (in green) around Christmas.
My dad always had his camera including my own wedding. So comes as not surprise he had almost a whole carousel of just random photos from a few weddings he was at.
Here was a good older brother...Showed support of his younger brother playing sports, BUT still trash talked him in the captions on the slides. The one of him batting says "He& #39;s No Hitter"
Looking for some help on this one...These slides are not labeled. I don& #39;t know the correct answer to who this might be. Any insight from the twitter world? There is no date on the box.
I have a guess that it could be @benatargiraldo...That is based on his music taste

Game time for @steelers vs @RamsNFL (when they were in LA originally). I believe this is the 11/29/1981 game.
I am not sure about the first one tho...My dad has it labeled "Franco break rushing attempt record - NFL" I can not find anything about it.
