Dex and I watched the first 5 MCU movies over the weekend and in order of fun I had they are:

1- Captain America
2- Ironman
3- Thor
4- Iron Man 2
5- Hulk.

I remember liking Hulk, but it doesn't hold up well/feels longer than it is. Iron Man movies are fun, but Tony is a dick.
We just started Avengers and Nick Fury has a comforting line early on: "Until such time as the world ends we will continue under the assumption it will keep spinning"
Bruce: "I'm not getting involved"
Natasha: "It's called the Tesseract..."
Bruce: "Wait, you didn't tell me there was science happening–just let me put my glasses on quick."
"I don't like to be handed things."

-Tony Stark. COVID-19 role model.
"With everything happening and the things that are about to come to light, people might just need a little old-fashioned."

Yes, Phil. Preferably with an orange rind and a cherry .
Do you ever gaze in awe upon the glory of a helicarrier and wonder what it would do for the crime rate if they invested that money in communities instead of in a police state?
Thor has grown a lot since the start of his movie and is a good dude at this point. Tony remains a dick. Captain America is literally too pure for this world.
Case in point:
"mewling quim" is Loki speaking on behalf of misygonistic douche canoes everywhere.
The most unbelievable part of this movie is that Hawkeye's USB hacker arrow slots in right side up on the first try
I lied. Coulson's vintage cards are near mint. There is categorically no way he didn't have those puppies sleeved.
Oh, that's right. Fury planted them! They were probs safely in a binder in Coulson's locker.
The shot with all six of them together is one of the most satisfying moments in any movie.
Loki is such a pretentious ass in this movie it gives me so much life to see Hulk throw him around like a ragdoll.
Tony Stark is so committed to getting under people's skin he literally flies into a monsters mouth.
Next up is Iron Man 3! I remember almost nothing about this movie other than my friend and I used to call it the Iron Man Christmas Special.
Speaking of 3s, I'm making tacos for the third time this week because in times of stress I retreat to sci-fi and cheesey handheld foods.
Man, my big take away from watching all of these again is that Tony Stark is such a relentless jerk.
Like it's incredible Vision turned out as wonderful as he did with a parent like Tony
Yeah, so far I'm on Aldrich's side here.
Ugh. Sending his suit to talk to Pepper while he works out and eats early on date night is peak Tony Stark. I hate the "difficult is code for ass hole" in difficult genius trope.
Honestly watching his mansion fall into the ocean because of his own arrogance was kinda satisfying
Like how many times can we watch Tony apologize to Pepper? An apology without a change in behavior isn't an apology: it's manipulation.
So far the best part of Iron Man 3 is Tony doing a reverse Home Alone with a side of Anarchists Cookbook on the Mandarins lair
And the Mandarin twist is still a really good one. It's a little refreshing to see a villain be like "Hey it's just a job, mate."
"Ever since the big man with the hammer fell out of the sky, subtlety has sort of had it's day."

Probs the most true sentence in all of the MCU.
The henchman who says I hate working here and surrenders is my favorite. Also the glove/boot only fight makes me want to play Cyberpunk 2077.
Honestly Tony should just help them. How amazing would it be if people could grow back limbs and organs and etc.? Take away the explosion thing and it's just fancy medicine.
The final fight of Iron Man 3 with all the different utility suits is really cool, and it makes me pine for a modern 3D take on Mega Man
Like the detail and animation for the way he moves between suits or fights with partial chunks of armor on or slips out before a segment is destroyed is just a complete visual treat.
But the highlight is Pepper kicking the shit out of Aldrich after he and Tony were talking about her like a trophy they're fighting over.
We watched Thor: Dark World this morning and that's the only movie so far that's better than I remember. The early sequences are Lord of the Rings with space ships-esque, and Thor has actual character growth and development in his movies--which is a nice change of pace.
When Tony has a problem: "I better load up on obsessive, narcissistic behavior, take my stress out on the folks closest to me in petty ways, and ensure I'm the hero by keeping everyone else in the dark."

Thor: "I'll just turn to my circle of emotionally supportive friends!"
Anyway, so far based purely on the metric of fun to watch:

1 - The Avengers
2 - Captain America
3 - Thor: Dark World
4 - Iron Man
5 - Thor
6 - Iron Man 3
7 - Iron Man 2
8 - Hulk.
Captain America Winter Soldier starts off with one of my favorite action sequences in the series so far. The speed and stealth during the deck clearing fight is super fun to watch. Also, Anthony Mackie is a very attractive man
Do you think Falcon keeps volunteering at the VA and running group meetings after he becomes the Falcon? I think so.
The attack on Fury's tricked out AI assisted SUV is also cool as hell. This movie feels more like a Jason Bourne/James Bond type thriller and less of a super hero movie-especially after the cape fest that was Thor: Dark World.
It also makes for a dramatic AF intro for Winter Soldier. Who with his mask and robot hand is another model of COVID-19 caution.
"I think you left your stereo on."

Steve Rogers: *breaks into his own home through the window because he's never done anything as whimsical as listen to music since the early 30s.*
Robert Redford is so good. I need to watch The Sting again soon.
Ships, cars, elevators, motorcycles: this movie likes its fights on the move. Elevator scenes can be up and down but this one crushes it. Easily the best fight per square inch in the MCU.
Hydra/Shield: Successfully hides this bunker using state of the art technology for decades.

Steve Rogers, immediately: Well, Army regulations clearly state...this building shouldn't be here!
I just want to point out the news helicopter is the only reason they don't execute Cap after the big Bucky reveal/street fight. Journalism says you're welcome, America.
Falcon's whole deal is exceptionally my jam. Guy is 5 cool gadgets away from being one of my favorite super heroes.
Of all the ways to react to someone coming back from the dead, "Did you get my flowers?" is pretty legit.
Steve Rogers literally tells his best friend to go ahead and kill him if that's his mission because he has Bucky's back period, and for better and worse that's everything you need to know about Captain America
Guardians of the Galaxy puts all of its sadness and emotion into the first five minutes with that brutal deathbed scene and then it's just pure silly from there. Hopefully I'm remembering that right
The most unrealistic part of Guardians is that cassette still working decades later. Kids these days will never know the satisfied agony of wearing a tape completely out.
Quill had one of those jumps where you know they set it up that way to make the 3D crowd feel like they'd gotten their extra couple bucks worth. I'm so glad 3D movies aren't as gimmicky as they used to be!
The Guardians getting arrested together to become a group is like 27 percent of the tabletop rpg games you've ever played in
Of course Groot gets an equal share in the loot: it's called seed money.
They should do a series that's literally just Rockets other 22 prison escapes.
Knowhere is one of the coolest settings in the series. A frontier mining town inside the remains of a giant alien is exactly my kind of sci-fi.
Age of Ultron has a slick opening fight sequence, lots of combo attacks like Thor throwing vehicles to Hulk in a sort of Godly Rage Fueled Alley Oop. But my big question is aren't Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver Magneto's kids? Do they ever address mutants in the MCU?
Either way, Wanda's witch powers are creepy cool. I always enjoy heroes who use power creatively instead of like a hammer, but, Wanda can also drop the hammer so she's great.
