Headline: Chinese wet markets still operating despite COVID-19

Equivalent to US/Europe: Country X’s farmers markets still operating despite COVID-19
There is nothing inherently nefarious or dangerous about a wet market. They are common in Asia.

China passed legislation to ban wildlife trade, so wet markets that also sell wildlife should go away in theory (though enforcement will be a challenge in a country so large)
And after the wildlife sellers go away the wet markets will go on. People will go to them to buy fresh produce and other groceries - some prefer wet markets to supermarkets because they believe the former offers fresher wares.
