The Focus was burning some oil so we’re freshening the motor up a bit and doing a few other things along the way like installing an RS clutch.
The engine is fairly accesible because everything on the front can be unbolted.
Good time to clean everything up since the engine is out.
Engine and gearbox out as a unit.
Gearbox is light enough for 2 people to lift by hand.
Clutch appears to be original based on part number revision.
Engine ready to be stripped down.
We're probably going to end up building the engine we pulled out but for now we've sourced a low mileage engine out of an Escape. The longblock is the same and converting it for installation into an ST shouldn't be too complicated.
Based on our research, low mileage Focus ST engines go for 3-4x the amount of low mileage Escape engines and if our part analysis is correct, we should be able to convert the Escape engine into a Focus ST engine with just a few minor part changes.
The replacement engine should be getting dropped off today hopefully.

In the meantime, we’ve received our parts batch from @RockAuto_Parts and should be getting the OEM parts we ordered like the RS clutch from @Tasca3 Parts in the next day or two.
