So tons of twitter celebs banner's changed today. I've been investigating & after contrasting wayback, early changes and current headers I think I've discerned what happened on a technical level.

I made a little chart here to demonstrate with 1 celeb example.
1. Last year she had image (wayback pic)
2. She changed it to red background (not image) this year (wayback)
3. Today Twitter changed red default to red image (8kun find)
4. She removed image today

Meaning if they had basic color background choices suddenly twitter changed them into images of the same colour. Many removed those images today which is why they go to default- demonstrated by this pic of me doing that. You can do it too, it's not an image.

Using wayback it became clear the backgrounds were not images - but all non default colours currently up ARE IMAGES - so it's kind of strange.
Another example. Wayback (red non image) -> Early today (red image) -> currently (default colour)

All celebs that had background colour (not images) appear to have been shifted to images - However for some colour backgrounds like blue it shifted them to light gray image files.

Actually I can no longer find ANY non default colour ones. So I guess twitter made a fix. Still, I can assure you they were image files distinct from the non image banners they were before today.
Anyway, so that's what happened, as for what this could mean?

I do decode colour symbolism comms after all. https://twitter.com/CodesUcq/status/1185012593573761024 - It's entirely possible they sent messages using the old background colour system. The symbolism of removing that system today may indicate strings cutting.

There are Thousands of celebs many w clown teams around coordinating. I doubt there would be attempts to communicate with all except power players. As I speculated about the banner colors used for comms then they could be called flags. Flags are used for comms after all.
