thread of explaining the enneagram, how to find your type, how to find your wing, and how to find your tritype
so the enneagram is like mbti? kinda? but with 9 different types each having a different view of the world, a different way of adapting to it, and different goals and fears that drive their personality and decisions
your main type is the one you feel fits you the most
your wing is the type "next" to it that fits you the most (although some people have balanced wings) so for example you can be a 4w3 or 4w5 but you cannot be a 4w8
your tritype is a bit more difficult to explain
the enneagram is split into 3 different sections: the instinctive center, the thinking center, and the feeling center
i won't explain what this means here but if you want to do more research go ahead
your tritype is each of the types you relate to the most in each of these centers
for example: i'm a 3-7-8 (ordered from most to least on a scale of how much i relate to each type)
now to explain each type i didn't want to write EVERYTHING out so i just took some screenshots from a website (crystalknows) that i consider pretty reliable
type 1
type 2
type 3
type 4
type 5
type 6
type 7
type 8
type 9
additional things:
- if you are a woman, feminine leaning, or afab and you believe yourself to be a type 2, make sure you're absolutely certain because women are often taught to play the role of a type 2 even if it is not their true type
- if you feel that relate to too many and you can't decide on a single one, you might be a type 6
- if your decision on your type is being influenced by other people's answers because you want to have a different type from the majority, you might be a type 4
if you want to do more research some good sites are the enneagram institute, truity, and crystalknows
hopefully this helps explain to anyone who's confused or still trying to figure out their type!!
