guess ill start with da basics

a lot of characters had a tech called DACUS (dash attack cancelled up smash) that let them slide across the whole stage with usmash

it let a lot of characters be more mobile than they'd normally be + some characters get true DACUS followups
Stemming from DACUS, there was an added tech called BDACUS (buffer DACUS). Basically, it allowed for an instant DACUS that you could go even further with + charge the smash with full momentum. You can buffer out of any action on the ground (even taunt LOL)
Platform cancelling

You could instantly land on a moving platform when jumping instead of rising through it, it created a lot of mixups and depth in gameplay

One of the coolest techs in any smash game, IMO and i wish they would bring it back it is so fucking sick
Shield dropping is an age old tech (sadly not in Ult) but in brawl you can also buffer shield drop out of charge/shield cancellable moves like snake grenade (also in Smash 4).

Funny enough this is the only way yoshi has oos options besides roll/spotdodge bc he cant jump oos LOL
Grab release (aerial release) was a big part of the game vs certain characters, mk wario & squirtle took it the hardest bc if they got grabbed at kill % they were guaranteed dead

Even ganon has a fucking chaingrab just by repeatedly grabbing wario across the stage into followup
SJR (second jump recovery) and ISJR (infinite SJR) meant that if you timed your aerial end lag well and your FAF ended somewhere before landing, you could double jump again (technically, you could do it forever)

Not used a lot, but a lot of brawl players were lazy af using tech
i dont think there was a universal name but a lot of characters gained a shit ton of momentum when they slid off the ground with a special move, and you can breverse them too

it was in smash 4 but they patched it out somewhere in like mid wii u patches
You could boost grab by cancelling your dash attack into grab, and you could also boost pivot grab. It was kinda busted for some chars like falco who gained a lot of momentum while keeping their grab range

It also looks swag af
Glide tossing, also one of the sickest techs IMO

Alot of characters could cancel roll with an item throw & glide very far

Very broken OOS/movement option

not to be confused with JCT (jump cancel throw) which is commonly (incorrectly) referred to as glide toss these days
I don't think im going to do fucking 193 techs LOL but uhhh heres some char specific stuff

Really sick pit up b tech this shit is so cool
zss flipjump didnt burry, but instead you were able to footstool people out of it, and when you did you got insane airspeed, not a glitch just intended feature

it allowed for some insane movement with the character, alongside a few of the other things i displayed in the thread
speaking of zss, you can turn into zss from picking normal samus if you rapidly do up taunt + down taunt lol
lucas had a tech called zap jump where if you jump+pk fire at the same time you literally fly LOL idk why it happens

idk the name for the other tech but if you pk fire + psi magnet you get insane momentum, this was really useful in recovering and some sick off stage shenanigans
If u quick attack toward ground w/ pikachu, u can double jump right after so u can keep up bing to ur hearts content

He had a semi infinite with this if he got you in a jab lock scenario bc quick attack locked you on the ground & there is no limit on being locked on the ground
Heres a really sick marth tech, it looks so dope

A lot of moves that snapped the ledge could be ledge cancelled, including Marth's up b. I believe you have to get the positioning right, but its one of the many moves you can ledge cancel
random thing you could do (also in smash 4 till they patched it out early wii u), if you hold A while holding an item you can cstick fsmash with the item in hand. only fsmash LOL
the only exception to the above is, for some reason, if you had a crawl you could also dtilt if you cstick forward while holding an item

Ive posted this many times, but heres my fav smash tech of all time

the Flight of Ganon (FoG)

if you jump + down b in certain spots right before landing on the ground, you fly

SV platform just happens to be the perfect height to airdodge off and be in position
if you ever had the misfortune of being counterpicked to yoshis against DK/Sonic

If DK uses up b correctly from ledge he becomes invincible throughout when he hits anything (including shield) bc of the slant

Sonic is invincible throughout spindash if he starts charging on slant
bowser can do this forever if he wishes, assuming he doesnt get hit

here is the glitch that had to be banned from tournaments LOL

infinite dimensional cape, exactly what it sounds like

you disappear and are invulnerable for an infinite amount of time if you hold down and mash cstick up, you'll reappear when you stop mashing or are too slow
MK nado is broken as fuck, but there is still counterplay
If you've played PM or P+ you've probably seen something like this, his turnaround gives him a lot of mobility thats essential for the character

squirtle is such a tragedy because he is so good but hes stuck with 2 mid and/or bad characters & has a really dumb mechanic (fatigue)
