conversion therapy: an informative thread
***disclaimer***

DO NOT READ IF EASILY TRIGGERED

this is STRICTLY an informative thread on what it does and how it--in certain circumstances--heIps people. i in no way fully condone this practice but i do think it gets a bad rep sometimes so i'm here to speak of the positives.
safe space:

many people struggle to come to terms with their sexuaIity. sometimes they can never truly accept themselves and that's where this type of therapy comes in. it provides a safe space for those who can't accept a part of them and turns that negativity into positivity.
proper professional help:

a lot of ‘seek-help’ institutions do not come with the appropriate medical staff needed to properly aid patients. new and improved routines have been established and are far more efficient and less barbaric than previous regimes.
hope:

everyone experiences things differently. for some people this particular help provides the smallest spark of hope. you may disIike it to an extent but for someone else, it imparts that much needed sense of hope in the world. who are we to take that away from someone?
freedom:

unfortunately, some people don't have freedom. it's a terrible world to live in with no freedom. sometimes they lack physical freedom--other times, mental freedom. on occasion, this type of therapy can free people from their demons. after all, we all deserve to be free.
IifestyIe:

you may be proud of the way you're Iiving and regardless of sexuaIity, i'm proud of you too. however, some people aren't that fortunate. they can't Iive with themseIves *as* themseIves. a proper treatment can provide them with the normal IifestyIes that they seek.
peace:

as stated before, this type of heIp isn't for everyone but for some it's respite. everyone has to conquer their issues by either accepting or changing it. nothing is worse than letting it fester, so why should we stop them from getting help if it gives them peace of mind?
change:

anything is possible if you want it hard enough. want to be a woman? be a woman! want to change raciaI background? do it! do whatever makes you happiest! if you are uncomfortable with yourself, you should always strive for a positive change and live life to the fullest.
happy life:

people go on to lead heaIthier lives which is why it's important to remember: your experience isn't like everyone else’s. we should be actively encouraging and uplifting one another to seek help in a positive setting instead of judging the type of help they receive.
