Please don& #39;t defend book piracy to authors. We know we can& #39;t stop you from illegally downloading unauthorized copies of our books, but you don& #39;t have to tell us about it.
Please don& #39;t defend book piracy by saying "poor people can& #39;t afford--" It& #39;s not poor people. The numbers show that it& #39;s people who can afford to buy books. Please stop dragging poor people into this.
Please don& #39;t defend book piracy by bringing up Big Name Author who doesn& #39;t mind book piracy. He doesn& #39;t get to speak for the rest of us.
Another reason NOT to pirate books, especially during the apocalypse: hardcover and paperback sales are way, way down. In some cases, the books can& #39;t even be printed. Audio is suffering too. So it& #39;s all on ebooks right now.
If you like books and you want more after all of this, make sure you get your ebooks legally--from the library or buying from a real ebook seller. Otherwise, authors can& #39;t afford to write, and publishers don& #39;t publish our books.
