Please don't defend book piracy to authors. We know we can't stop you from illegally downloading unauthorized copies of our books, but you don't have to tell us about it.
Please don't defend book piracy by saying "poor people can't afford--" It's not poor people. The numbers show that it's people who can afford to buy books. Please stop dragging poor people into this.
Please don't defend book piracy by bringing up Big Name Author who doesn't mind book piracy. He doesn't get to speak for the rest of us.
Another reason NOT to pirate books, especially during the apocalypse: hardcover and paperback sales are way, way down. In some cases, the books can't even be printed. Audio is suffering too. So it's all on ebooks right now.
If you like books and you want more after all of this, make sure you get your ebooks legally--from the library or buying from a real ebook seller. Otherwise, authors can't afford to write, and publishers don't publish our books.
