This is profoundly not helpful. And will, in actual fact, result in cancer patients and other members of the disability community being assaulted. Stop it. https://twitter.com/Bram_Rochwerg/status/1243531872069726208
Look, I'm a goddamn healthcare policy expert, I've devoted most of my time for a couple of months now, to trying to get enough #PPE and #vents produced.

The reason why frontline healthcare workers don't have #PPE? NOTHING to do with the few people you saw at the grocery store
The anger at the lack of PPE? Completely understandable, justified, useful.

Publicly targeting that anger (my guess is ~100k impressions?) at private individuals in a way that encourages the kind of attacks the disability community already deals with? Reckless, harmful, bad.
I need my meds, including those that suppress my immune system.

I am not permitted to get my meds by mail-order. Why not? Medicaid* doesn't allow it.

*I realize that for many, 'confessing' that I'm alive because of Medicaid renders my life worthless
I'm forced by law, to go into a brick & mortar store in order to pick up the immunpsuppressing rx I need. Or I wind up in the hospital. Or I die. Those are my choices.

bc of irresponsible shit like this, when I wear a mask to do so, I could be assaulted https://twitter.com/Bram_Rochwerg/status/1243531872069726208?s=20
Your tweet, @Bram_Rochwerg isn't helpful. It's irresponsible and reckless. And you should delete it.
"But" @mattbc "no one assaults disabled people in the grocery story"

My disabilities are usually non-apparent. Every time I, personally, have been battered in a grocery store? It's been because I was visibly disabled.
I'm white, cis, male presenting. Imagine what it's like for folks without those layers of privilege protecting them.

Delete the tweet Bram – the internet feel good points aren't worth harming people.
The fundamental argument certain medical professionals uncritically advance, that disabled people must *be sacrificed* because society writ large 1) excluded us from decision making & 2) decided to under-resource & under-prepare is really telling us who you are.
