OMG. I just heard such a *THUNK* against my living room window so loud that I'm shocked it didn't break. I saw a mass for a split second and thought it was a tree branch, but there's no tree there. When I went to the window, a huge bird was perched on my raised flower bed,
his little friend is floating in my little pond.
I'm bawling right now, that was so sad

Sorry for all the typos I'm upset

IT'S NOT IN THE POND ANYMORE WHAT IN THE FUCK
No way could he have survived that what is going on

Random feathers are still floating and I have that pic so I haven't gone insane
So my neighbor says those are doves. They live in the tree by his house and are loud as shit. One of them is on the power line making tons of noise right now. If the injured one could fly, you'd think they'd be together. I'm looking around outside
Aren't doves supposed to be a sign of peace??
I GUESS THIS ALL MAKES SENSE, THEN.

I bet the hawk got it. Country life, man.
I've heard the term "lonesome dove" a million times, but it hits different when I'm staring at a literal lonesome dove on a power line not moving and missing its companion.

Omg Jim is right. My neighbor told me doves are small enough for a cat to have taken it, and I was like buttttt the other bird I saw was so big...
It was a fucking hawk that I saw. I scared it away when I got to the window and when I left he got his prize https://twitter.com/ConceptualJames/status/1244073667086163968?s=19

I kept looking at the other dove on the power line and thinking, that thing seems so much smaller than the bird I saw. I only saw it in a flash before it flew away. It was the gd hawk, not the dove's buddy. I'm a derp.

I'm about to Google what a dove does when it loses its forever mate because I have to know and that bird is crying out in mourning and I'm going to regret this
Here come the waterworks

I am kind of laughing at myself that I saw this huge bird alive by the pond and a dove in the pond, and in my shock didn't put together that they were two entirely different sizes and breeds.

My mistake is due to what we call a "schema." It says something about me that my mental
shortcut was to assume that two birds together "must be little friends hanging out with each other," and not predator and prey

.
Some of my schemas are very girly and childlike apparently!

If some of you may be trying to take care of kids totally on your own and you're looking for a new bf/gf, I have a dove at my house doing the exact same thing, so you're not alone.
I wonder how single doves find each other I mean they don't have Dove Tinder or anything so they
I wonder how single doves find each other I mean they don't have Dove Tinder or anything so they
must just attract mates by making super loud and obnoxious noises which is totally crazy because that's exactly how *I* do it
I didn't know I had so much in common with doves, anyway goodnight everybody

Just sitting here wondering if girl doves take shit for being worse fliers than boy doves and if I can safely assume that the surviving dove is a male. What's the dove equivalent to parallel parking?
ok but for real goodnight
