Common Misconceptions Regarding Seungri and His Case: An Informative and Necessary Thread.
1. "Seungri is the owner of Burning Sun."
I see comments referring to Burning Sun as, "Seungri's club" all the time. It's not his club. He never owned it. He indirectly owned 8% of shares through Yuri Holdings.
2. "Seungri's a r*pist"
No, he's not. This isn't my opinion, this isn't what I'm choosing to believe, it's a fact. He was never accused of r*pe. Not by the victims, not by the police, not by the media.
Meet Choi Jonghoon and Jung Joonyoung, the real r*pists.
3. "He was in the Molka Group Chat."
He was never in the Molka group chat. He was in a business group chat with JJY and a few others. They received ONE video from JJY. Seungri knew nothing about the context and was unaware that this video would even be shared to the chat.
4. "He knew that his friends were r*pists." or "He's a sex trafficker."
The only video he witnessed was one of which where consensual sex took place. He received the video without context so why would he alert the police? He didn't know they were r*pists.
5. "I thought he was in jail."
The real r*pists are in prison. Seungri never went to jail. In January, a request for an arrest warrant for Seungri was issued. However, it was declined due to the fact that Seungri had no intention of running away or destroying evidence.
6. "He paid his way out."
No, he didn't. How powerful do you think he is? Both arrest warrants were declined by judges known for punishing criminals with far more wealth and a higher status than Seungri.
7. "He hates women."
I don't know him personally. I know him as someone I've idolized for years, so I only know the version of himself he showcases. But all I can say is that from all the videos I've watched, I've only ever seen him treat women with respect.
Feel the way you want about him, but defamation is a crime.
