A new thread... Today I’m thankful for:

• A break in the rain so I could sneak a run in outside
•A dog who is finally eating food and ... all the other stuff ... normally

• @USPS! I have been sending notes/cards & look forward to my these days.I’ve been using dble sided tape to seal (no licking!) & have been careful my b4 .It’s Sunday so no today, but I’m already looking forward to seeing my mail carrier, Jeff, tomorrow! #stayhome

• @delta customer service rep Beth for helping me reschedule flights for a good friend’s rescheduled wedding. Thank you, Beth!

• @SSHonorFlight! I’ll admit - it’s been a tough couple of weeks for me (and everyone!), but I am so lucky for the friends I’ve made through SSHF. While things are “not awesome” right now, it doesn’t take much to be reminded of how bad things COULD be

• the sun Goodness did it feel good to see the sun today!

• my hammock! It’s back! Enjoyed some time in the sun with my girl. I think she loved it even more than I did... watching birds and squirrels from her perch

• Santa! About 25 years ago he gave me this sewing machine for Christmas. Little did 10yo me know I’d be busting it out to sew masks in a pandemic! She worked like a charm though #smizing #smilewithyoureyes

• my neighbors.I know a ton of peeps in my ‘hood, not my block.We’ve really pulled together tho.There are a lot of older people & everyone is checking in on them & each other. Today 1 of the granddaughters of a neighbor came and showed off her baton twirling skills! #blockparty

• fresh cut flowers I have been buying them when I grocery shop and they really have brightened my kitchen and my day! [This is from yesterday but forgot to post it!]

• anyone else have leftover @girlscouts cookies? Thankful for my secret stash that I have in the basement for rainy days and pandemics. (For the record, not rainy today... is OUT! )

• comedy.The night the world seemed to come to a halt (when NBA suspended the season),I was blissfully unaware laughing my toosh off at Chappelle & tonight, we said g’bye to Modern Family, a show that has made me laugh and will continue to as I rewatch episodes 4 years to come

• my bed. I’ve been on an air mattress in the KIT for the last 2.5 wks w a sick & finally slept in my own last night. I know there a lot of people (HC/essential workers) who are in strange places right now to help others & protect their fams.Not taking this 4 granted!

• Fiona! My goofy, high spirited, eye rolling ogre princess. She makes me laugh everyday and I am so grateful for her loyal companionship #NationalPetDay

• yesterday (Easter) felt like a “missed holiday” to me. No church/family/etc. Yesterday I was grateful for those for whom “missed holidays” are routine... hospital physicians, nurses, and staff; police officers, EMTs, and firefighters; military; caregivers; the list goes on...

• this city I call home. Yes I live in a suburb, but the City of Milwaukee and all of SE WI has my heart. I miss the things we do together (Brewers! Bucks! Eating! Brewing beer! Drinking beer!) but know this is only temporary. #HappyMilwaukeeDay #milwaukeeday #414day

• my job. I’ve been “seconded” to work on the PPP lending process and have learned so much and really appreciate the opportunity to do something that will hopefully help thousands of businesses and their employees #WeGotThis

• moments like this... for the last few wks, I’ve had a standing date w my goddaughter and her siblings (& mom who is 1 of my college BFFs) &today they read The Great Eggscape to me! They did a fantastic job reading & listening & the story was almost as adorable as the kids

• the Oak Leaf Trail. A portion of it runs near my house along the Menomonee River and Fiona and I took a nice long walk today and then sat next to the river for a bit
