#COVID2019

MPLAD and MLALAD fund at the 'command of the legislators' would anyday have been used by the legislators for the 'welfare' of their respective legislative constituencies.

As a public representative,it would be much better if all our legislators donate one month salary to PM CARES Fund

780+ MPs donating approx 1,50,000 each= 11.7 cr approx(I know it isn't that big an amount, but still every Penny helps)

#FYI

MPLAD fund for 2020-21 and 2021-22 (amounting to 7900 Cr rupees) has been discontinued and will go to CFI

It's a good step. Almost every single MP and MLA would pocket 55-75% of this money

1/n
Why good step? How corruption is done?

Case study(in simple words):

Constituency: X
MP: ABC
MP's nephew :XYZ

2/n
Now what ABC would do is,he would recommend the district officials to release 5 crore (2+2+1) for building a road

To construct the road the district official would call for tender

3/n
Now ABC would force(if he doesn't agree then transfer, the next person will do it) the district official to give tender to construct the road to his XYZ's company

Now the XYZ would use substandard material to construct the road in 2.5 Cr rs and would

4/n
show that it was constructed in 5 Cr rs so the remaining 2.5 Cr goes in the pockets of the ABC

Note:Now replace the word MP with MLA, you get the same scenario

#FYI:

Another significant decision taken is reducing the salary, allowances and pension of MPs by 30% w.e.f. from 01/04/2020

Now some say,it would save merely 60 Cr rupees

So why this hype ?

The answer is:

Sometimes it's more about optics

Yes, when people see that our political leaders are willing to take this 'extraordinary' and 'bipartisan' step, we all get that positive vibe to do our bit(vis-a-vis those who are in much more vulnerable condition)

To put things in perspective, pic 1 and pic 2 have near same message i.e, significance in terms of 'optics'
