movies I’ve watched and enjoyed during this pandemic:
1. Booksmart (2019)

I’m a sucker for anything with female friendship but this was so fun and resonated with me so much, cried but that’s going to be a reoccurring theme. Also, lesbians!
2. What Happened To Monday (2017)

Watched this with Dec on FaceTime last night and omggg. It was gritty and emotional and ugh we love a dystopia that lowkey comments on real life current issues. Also the actress who played the seven sisters did it so well!!
3. The House Bunny (2008)

How have I never seen this? So fun and lighthearted, plus love how it really centred on friendship and sisterhood, and how other people can make you confident and realise who you really are.
4. My Days of Mercy (2017)

A modern gay star-crossed lovers? Intertwined with the politics of the death penalty? It’s intense at times but I was actually hooked and not bored at all at any point
5. Gone Girl (2014)

WTF? Amy Dunne is a genius but I’m terrified of her. Her “I’m that cunt” speech — whoa. Also I feel like more justice for Margo Dunne, ya feel?
6. Thoroughbreds (2017)

Okay, loved this but literally hated every single character except for Amanda. Lily can get fucked!! But Anya Taylor Joy was amazing as always.
7. Level 16 (2018)

This is very, very good. It’s a real thriller/mystery with a fucked up twist. A little Handmaid’s Tale-y if you like that sort of thing.
8. Legally Blonde (2001)

Like once again how have I never watched this?? I love Elle Woods, what an icon. Aspiring to be her and Cher Horowitz in one body.
9. Unicorn Store (2019)

This is super confusing but it’s actually just like fun and wholesome? And definitely had some cute lessons in their, Brie Larson is gorgeous as always.
10. Paradise Hills (2019)

Oh my god this was so good?? Another kinda weird dystopia thing about women but I feel like there is soooo much more to the universe itself. 100% recommend, very satisfying (and a lil gay).
11. What Keeps You Alive (2018)

Okay this movie made me so mad but also didn’t but also did and WHY DID I WATCH THIS AT 7am?? Anyway if you’re looking for a good thriller, you’ve got one here
12. Midsommar (2019)

Do I even need to explain? Definitely some disturbing bits but ultimately very very interesting, I wasn’t so much scared as I was definitely uncomfortable but people have been right about it. It’s a great movie
13. Hereditary (2018)

I’m on some buzz to scare myself aren’t I? Liked the twist, didn’t see it coming at all, and Toni Colette was brilliant as everyone said.
14. The Neon Demon (2016)

So I was fully like wtf until I read an explanation which made everything... way cooler. Kinda slow at times but so fucked up and I love girls being fucked up lmao
15. Brightburn (2019)

I hate creepy ass kids and I was... so shook by that ending :( actually a bit sad but then bad guy started playing as the credits rolled so I’m kinda vibin
16. The Visit (2015)

Talk about unnerving omg!! It was shot like it was a video tape the whole time which was so cool, really enjoyed it
17. The Perfection (2019)

This movie was so insane?? You literally can’t see any of it coming but sure was fun
18. Clinical (2017)

This was MENTAL but omg what a twist, you will not see it coming at all it’s so good
