All right, since I've got nothing better to do, I'm starting a thread of all the food places in Delhi you gotta check out after this apocalyptic shit blows over

Starting off with the OG chholey bhaturey from Hari Om Chholey Bhaturey, Prashant Vihar, Sec 14 Rohini

(1/n)
The stuffed fruit kulfis from Kuremal Mohanlal Kulfiwale in Chawri Bazaar

Quite simply the best dessert I've had in town, along with the friendliest and chattiest owner

Pro tip - always start with the anaar kulfi, and then try whatever else you want

During the summer months, in the lanes of Jama Masjid, you'll find something called 'gur ki sharbat'. Phenomenal drink, with very subtle flavours that rejuvenates you in a jiffy!

Had this from a chap near Chitli Qabar Chowk, Jama Masjid

(3/n)
This fantastic sheermal you get from a shop bang opposite Aslam Chicken down Matia Mahal Rd, Jama Masjid

Instead of braving the crowds at Aslam, simply ask them to hand you the chicken, and you can enjoy it with the sheermal while standing in the lane amd dodging scooters

(4/n)
Daulat ki chaat, available in the winters in the bylanes of old Delhi

Light and frothy as the clouds that float around Delhi these days, it's topped with some gur and varq! I strongly recommend Khemchand in Chawri Bazaar for your DKC needs

(5/n)
the now-famous rendition of butter chicken from Aslam Chicken, Matia Mahal Rd, Jama Masjid

Wee bit overhyped imo, but you gotta try it once for sure - be sure to go on an empty stomach

(6/n)
the mutton nalli nihari and bheja fry from Haji Shabrati Nihariwaaley remain my fav so far, but that's probably because I still haven't tried the legendary Kallu Nihari. Easy on the pocket and absolutely loaded with flavour, it's accompanied with piping hot khamiri rotis

(7/n)
One of the oldest running bakeries in Delhi, started by a Swiss couple in 1932, Wenger's in CP will forever have my heart.

Don't u dare miss the chicken patties (best I've had in my entire life), the mutton shammi kebabs and the cream buns

(8/n)
Mazaar in Lajpat Nagar 2 serves up some superb, authentic Afghan fare, including the most tender mutton in the city. The Afghan breads which arrive fresh from the bakery next door, as well as 2 types of tea, are on the house.

(9/n)
Forget the grossly overpriced and overcrowded establishments of Pandara Road, my go-to place for my butter chicken and garlic naan fix is Om Restaurant, tucked away in Jangpura.

(10/n)
Leo's Pizzeria in Basant Lok has, hands down, the best pizzas in the country. They also do an excellent, superbly decadent dark chocolate mousse and a fantastic in-house coffee called the Dark Nut.

(11/n)
Ama Cafe in Majnu Ka Tilla deserves a place of honour on this list, for pancakes fluffier than marshmallows and perfectly cooked bacon, at dirt cheap rates

(12/n)
Cafe Lota, at National Handicrafts Museum, Pragati Maidan. Superb fusion of Indian food and flavours, quality stuff. Great place for a date!

(13/n)
Triveni's masala chai, shammi kebabs and pakoras will always have my heart.
Love to hear faint melodies of flutes or the fading footsteps of a pair of ghungroos while sitting here!

(14/n)
Another of numerous hidden gems in Delhi, Novelty Dairy and Stores, Jangpura is well ensconced behind the facade of a grocery store, & serves some smashing grilled sandwiches with a killer green chutney, and
cold coffee. Regulars also swear by their cheese omelettes!

(15/n)
My personal favourite among the myriad of momo places dotting the city, has to be Chimney Sizzlers in Yashwant Place, Chanakyapuri

Their chicken and pork steamed momos stand head and shoulders above the competition!
For the vegetarians who've made it this far, I've got something for you - Suruchi, in Karol Bagh, serves a mind-blowing Rajasthani thali, & set the benchmark for customer service
I'd choose this meal over many a non-veg feast!

(17/n)
Shiv Mishthan Bhandar, Chandni Chowk, is a fav destination for their hearty breakfast of aloo and bedmi puris, served with some spicy chholey as well! Remember to finish the meal with a hot jalebi!

(18/n)
yet another hidden gem is Kent's Fast Food in Defence Colony - they serve the yummiest mutton burgers, masala fries and a masala Coke. Relatively easy on your wallet, and big on taste.

(19/n)
CR Park, an area every Bengali in the city is familiar with, is home to some really great sweetshops, the best among which, after many visits and gained kilos, I've decided is Kamala Sweets

Their baked roshogulla and mishti doi are to die for!

(20/n)
Rajinder Dhaba in Safdarjung Enclave, for its super tender chicken tikkas and kebabs, and a fantastic chicken curry.
Also don't miss the mutton galoutis, the chicken satay and the dahi ke kebab!

(21/n)
All right this is a very underrated spot - Ala Turka in Select Citywalk, Saket for the ULTIMATE chicken shawarma and Turkish coffee
Expensive, but worth every penny

(22/n)
Alkauser, RK Puram, for its silky soft, melt-in-your-mouth kakori kebabs, dum biryani and phirni

(23/n)
Not sure if you guys know about this but you can get some rly great Ethiopian cuisine in Delhi at the Ethiopian Cultural Centre, in Chanakyapuri. They were closed when I last went around Feb-end for renovation, but it's a must try.
