"I AM LOSING HOPE." - A thread.

Hello, my name is Christine and I live in the Philippines. I am a streamer and I make vlogs. I wish to share about my personal struggle right now. My partner, was illegally detained by the Bureau of Immigration of the Philippines.

He's from Myanmar, grew up in Thailand and entered the Philippines as missionary. We met here and have been together for 6 years. We're blessed with one daughter that is now 4 years old. He's a supportive loving father that gives us the best.

March 5, 2020, 6 BI officers came and deceived us saying they're from our baby's school. When my partner showed up, they forced him to go. They arrested him without any warrant or clear reason. Didn't explain his rights or ask to reach for a lawyer.

The van has no plate number and I was preventing them to go, but they're intimidating. I had to hide my daughter so she won't see her dad taken away. They were only flashing a paper that says 'mission order', but didn't allow us to at least read what he is being arrested for.

They handcuffed and kept him in Bicutan Detention Center for 24 days now. The situation there is the worst, no proper food or ventilation. With this virus spreading around, we have no means of communicating or seeing him. And it happens to many other foreigners. All for money.

With no derogatory records, or crime commited. No solid case. He is clean. Then I learned that it's been a bigger scheme of those corrupted BI officials we PAY WITH OUR TAXES. They ask for money and threatens to deport him if we won't pay. I don't have a voice, or enough riches.

Why arrest an innocent person? Is it because of how he looks? The tattoos? WHY? He's a victim. I am losing faith in the justice system. It's as if the laws are only for the rich influential people. And they prey on us.

It breaks my heart how this greatly affected my daughter. She doesn't want to do homework if it has something to do with her school. She used to be very excited but because BI pretended they're from her school and took her dad away, she doesn't want to do online classes anymore.

My daughter would draw keys like this everytime. She said she needs to give these to her daddy. She said these are the keys he needs to get out.

I always wake up around this time and cry. My heart is so heavy. It's day 25 without the love of my life. How could they do this to you. Why are they taking away something so pure.

When I went to BI, I happened to know they doctored their own reports and put "Overstaying since 2012."

Please tell me BI, does this look like 2012 to you? This was last year's Christmas when my daughter's only wish is her dad.

This shows on his passport. How can you miss that?

This is your handwriting, Attorney. You saw my worried face. You saw me crying. Yet you could look me in the eye and tell me that we need to petition for bail. Why would we bail in the first place? WHAT IS THE CRIME? No charge sheet you say? Oh let's read the Omnibus, shall we?

YOU ARE THE LAWYER. Read this to me and tell me in my face I was wrong. It clearly says: Preliminary Investigation, Charge Sheet and a Mission Order. How can you ask us to bail when you see that HE HAS NO CHARGE SHEET. How did the mission order appear without a charge/case?!

You know we are desperate, and the only way? BAIL. You said 275,000 'processing fee' and 55,510 bail. Without the processing, the bail won't be granted. You see those lines and scribbles? We were doing that while asking you questions because we couldn't believe what we heard.

This legal who was in charge of the docs was on leave the WHOLE WEEK. Everytime we visit, he is not around. I would start to think he's just hiding from us? Suddenly, YOU MET HIM ON THURSDAY. But you didn't know our family was there too, but we didn't see him. Oh you lying bro.

And you're telling me he signed something opting for bail? Let's make that clear: HE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HE WAS SIGNING. He didn't eat, and wasn't provided COUNSEL OF HIS CHOICE. Didn't you say bail is not possible without the Oath of Undertaking? Review your OMNIBUS, Mr. Lawyer.

Okay I get it now. When a foreigner is arrested, you come to the rescue because in reality, YOU HAVE A CUT. Could you tell us how much from that 275,000 pesos without OR is for you? I saw that you have picture of a child on your phone, can you really feed him/her with that money?

I know all your names and all your faces. You are all a DISGRACE TO OUR COUNTRY. The humiliation? Taking advantage? The compromise you all did even after knowing the corruption and showing you proof? You are all part of this.

This goes to all the foreigners I met in Bicutan, who are really innocent, and went through the unnecessary humiliation, trauma and stress. Many are already depressed because of the injustice. Most of them do not understand why they are locked up for months. Some are even years.

I am aware that they can put dirt on him, plant whatever problems they can to justify. They might even change the mission order indication of 2012 since it's just a piece of paper. He told me to be ready for whatever because he is. And if God is with us, who can be against us?

Friends all around the world, I am beyond grateful for the support and attention you've given Simon. The pain in my heart was filled with hope. No one has the right to take away our lives without a fight. Not the Immigration or the Government. #FreeSimonDoe

It's so cringey to read “upon verification of his travel documents, it was confirmed that he arrived in the country in 2012 and been overstaying since 2016, which is a deportable offense.”

MEANWHILE, one click in your system and this would show. CAN TRAVEL RECORDS LIE?

He entered the country as a DEPENDENT. His parents were Missionaries too. In 2016, he downgraded his visa because he turned 21. He is just 25 years old right now, remember?

So saying he didn't fix his visa in 2016 is tricky tbh. Uh-oh... Somebody didn't do their homework.

FYI: Travel Records is not everything. We have to remember that whenever a foreigner exceeds stay, he needs to go to BI office and extend his visa. Then they put it on passport. If he overstays, he pays for fines. The travel records only indicate the in and out of our country.

Apart from countless receipts of extensions of Visa we processed, plus his travel records also guarantees that he didn't overstay for 8 (2012) or 4 (2016) years indicated on their mission order that allowed them to arrest him, considering he had multiple travel through the years.

Some say I am not a lawyer so I have to be wrong at some points. Let me tell you this. The father of my child, the love of my life, was taken away without a chance. I have nothing to lose. But our country, if we are successful on this, would gain so much. I am simply a messenger.

BI has been going on for years of corruption.

It's God's work that I was able to gain all these info I have. These papers are miracles. Without God, I am also clueless. Ignorant. But the laws of man were blessed by God, and He will not allow people to use it for their own gain.

He has loved the Philippines so much. He is proud of Filipinos. He learned our language. He practices our culture. Because he respects our country.

Don't let this situation change his heart.

He is a person of God. He puts Jesus first before me in his life. But shows the love of the Lord in action. How blessed I am to have a partner next to God's own heart.

A PERSON WHO IS INKED. FULL OF TATTOOS. He is the proof that God looks in the heart, and not the outside.

This was when he got arrested. He was allowed to use his phone before they confiscated it to go inside the prison...

I was telling him that I feel like leaving. But he is strong. And asks me to hold on. That the work of the Lord has just started.

I just want to live in peace...

Before the Women's Month ends, I wanted to say thank you to the strongest women of God in my life and Simon's.

OUR MOTHERS. They brought us to the world and it is them who made us who we are today. They loved us unconditionally and never left our side.

She's not good in expressing herself in Tagalog but I get what she says. Her dad brings her Jollibee everytime. And she thinks he'll be home because we have it today.

I understand that no one wants to be accountable for anything. But the truth is, everyone should be accountable when you are in position. Your silence means yes. And I quote Yorme @IskoMoreno, "Ang pananahimik ninyo'y pagpayag nyo."

"Arrives Next Day"

There is no direct flight from Myanmar to Philippines. He goes in transits, meaning 'rides two planes'. It is also not cheap for a starting family to travel everytime, but he is willing to go through this just to see our daughter.

Simon may not be a Filipino, but his child is. She is our next generation and she will despise our country for the rest of her life when she realizes what the Philippines did to her father. Why focus on him when we have fugitives inside our land?

Who is really the FILIPINO here?

I think the reason why no one reaches out to me is, I'm telling the truth. Too real it hurts and most of the time it's easier to keep quiet.

Unfortunately, the majority of our leaders are corrupt and the rest... Are cowards.
