Friends, remember: if you
are sleeping poorly
have a tight chest
a dry mouth
racing heart
headaches
That’s your body asking for help, on behalf of your brain. This is what anxiety feels like.

If you
want to sleep all the time
feel like everything is a struggle
and like hiding away
find yourself crying more
and unable to feel hope
or just feel numb
This is your brain struggling to cope. If it lasts for a few weeks, this is what depression feels like.

Listening to your body and being aware of what your brain is doing/feeling is a crucial way of managing mental poor health. It’s okay and extremely understandable to feel these things - and the good news is you can learn to manage them.
The first step is to tell someone how you’re feeling, or if you can’t - write it down. The next step is to forgive yourself for feeling anxious or depressed, and to remember you can give the same care to yourself that you give to your loved ones, because you are worthy of it.
The experts at @beyondblue have expert advice on the steps to take next, and some brilliant resources. But remember those first two, and that we’ll get through this together.
