The neighbors’ Christmas countdown clock, repurposed (countdown not visible during the day, but the whimsical wording isn’t visible at night, so here we are)
Update: it has a diorama in front of it now.
New display! Notice the bird feeders hanging behind?!
Where do they get all of these figurines?
New diorama today ... or should I say DINO-rama?

I’m clearly losing my mind.
Not their strongest showing. (Can you even tell that’s a bunny? Sticker added, just in case.)

I’m hoping they are just spreading out the really good material so they don’t use it all up at once. Also they’re really good neighbors.
Today: 🐪🐫
The neighbor informed me that she sacrificed 68 sheets of toilet paper for this beauty.
A craft idea for tomorrow - sun catchers!
I hope you all made suncatchers today. The countdown diorama today was INCREDIBLE: all about rocks (and minerals). This was my neighbor’s 8th grade science fair project, from 1978. I sincerely hope you zoom in on every picture.
Yesterday’s diorama was a nice reminder that I live in the south.
Thank you, heroes!
This one really got me. Where did she find the tiny chef’s hat? The dinosaurs were a gift from us. The speech bubble says: “Sorry for the wait, we’re a little short-handed.”
Today I learned (again) that my neighbors really love camels.
Throwback Thursday included handmade tic tac toe boards to commemorate COVID-19.
We did not make kazoos, but adding this to the home school bag o’ tricks for sure.
Easter Sunday diorama
It rained yesterday, and we saw a rainbow today! cc: @wxbrad
Tribute to farmers! I believe this was inspired by my 4.5 yo’s gift of a popsicle stick scarecrow to the neighbors (which I told them to throw away), which is featured in this display.
Camels again!
Today: Free fishing poles and a suggestion that we all give fishing a try.
Yesterday: @LEGO_Group architecture.
Today’s diorama includes a community service project!
Rainy day activity ideas
More dinosaur humor. I can’t get enough.
I dropped the ball today and didn’t get a photo before the diorama came down. It was a science experiment! These UV beads are great fun.
Today’s quarantine countdown diorama: a @girlscouts tribute to bees! (Also @nprscience had a great Short Wave episode about honeybees recently that goes well with this educational moment.)
The countdown today was rather optimistic (6 days!) until Governor Cooper’s (expected, advisable) extension of the SAH order.

In other news, you can build your own rain gauge for fun!!
Yesterday: BINGO!
Today we celebrated clovers and discovered that our neighbors seem to make a habit of keeping science projects for many, many years.
Brief interlude in the daily countdown to note that my neighbor Angela was in @theobserver because of her special clock (and we watched the whole thing from our front stoop). https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/coronavirus/article242266041.html
