The first Dominic Raab was released in 1967. He was available with two different hair colours and had articulated elbows and knees.
The early popularity of Dominic Raab led to a brief appearance in Commando! In the series DOMINIC RAAB: REAL MAN.

Grant Morrison would later parody this in 2000AD with the much-acclaimed ROMINIC DAAB: REAL BOY
The first Dominic Raab with realistic gripping action was released in 1974.

Flock hair was added in 1977.
The famous lever to move Dominic Raab's eyes was actually added much later than people think: 1981.

A short run of Dominic Raabs with this feature were previewed over Christmas 1979, however. These Dominic Raabs now sell for upwards fo £1000 to collectors.
The first appearance of Dominic Raab on screen was an Thames Television special in 1986. The show featured a time-travelling Dominic Raab from WW2.

Martin Shaw starred as Raab, and Jason Isaacs made his first known screen appearance as his bumbling sidekick, Matty "Boy" Hancock.
Hasbro acquired the rights to Dominic Raab in 1991, although a court battle with the original creator prevented the release of new Raabs until 1993.

A short run of Matty "Boy" Hancock figures was released in 1992 as these rights were not disputed, but these proved unpopular.
The first Dominic Raab with a voice chip was released in 1997.

It featured four phrases:

"Stand by for Thatction!"

"This is your Minister speaking!"

"Look out! A Labour motion!"

and:

"I'll answer that question in a minute, but first let me explain to your listeners..."
Dominic Raab has remained a consistent part of the Hasbro lineup for over 20 years.

In 2019, a brief attempted was made to relaunch the Matty "Boy" Hancock line. It was not successful.
