So I& #39;m very emotional right now, going through my 19 and 17 yr old boys& #39; baby boxes for some kind of comfort.

And I found this article from the Orange County Register dated Monday November 26, 2001, which profiles my (now ex) husband and my firstborn baby...
as we prepared to board a flight for the first holiday after 9/11.

And the reporter was questioning how we could get on a flight right after the towers fell? And I remember thinking at the time, what a stupid question. Of course I would get on a plane to see my family. (photo)
And the very next year we were blessed with a second son. And life went on. Divorce. Work. Teenagers.

But as I sit here today, I am on FMLA from a nervous breakdown I had in January.

Right after my company said they were bumping me back to contractor at less than full-time.
I realize that since I became a mother in 2001, our lives *collectively* have been nothing but terror.

- 9/11
- endless US wars in other countries
- the phenomena of active shooters
- poverty and inequality in our own country

I mean com& #39;on.
My 17 year old and I are sekf-isolating while I try to hold my shit together to show him strength.

But for fuck& #39;s sake, I don& #39;t know if I will ever & #39;see& #39; my parents again who only live 30 miles away but are in a senior community that has to shut down to keep them all safe.
And people ARE ARGUING THAT TRUMP IS NOT THE BIGGEST GODDAM CORRUPT MOTHERFUCKER IN THE WHOLE WORLD and this is not his fault?

NETWORKS ARE AIRING TRUMP& #39;S SPEECHES AS IF ANY OF THIS IS NORMAL!!!

What the fucking fuck. It& #39;s bonkers.

I just can& #39;t listen to this shit anymore.
Now. Please. Make. It. Stop.

I need someone rational like, I don& #39;t know, anyone with the right priorities to be leading us right now.

Do we really have to try to survive like this until November?
