What if I were to tell you I have in my hands a piece of creativity that includes contributions from Aerosmith, Peter Gabriel, Ace of Base, Sonic Youth, They Might Be Giants, Sponge, The Chieftains, Basia, and literally dozens more?
It is this, from 1995. It has recipes from over 100 acts, many of which I recognize. Basia? Commissioned? Diamond Rio? Nope
I saw a reference to it recently and apparently ordered it from an indie used book store. (I do not actually remember doing so.) I assume Flans’s French Toast recipe was what drew me in and it looks very good.
There are other things that are alternatively ludicrous or awful or weird. “Cher’s Tuna Pasta” is a phrase I did not anticipate ever reading.
Are there two Aerosmith recipes that seem perhaps unexpectedly good? There are!
Sonic Youth is maybe annoyingly on brand.
David Byrne basically submitted an essay about leftovers.
I am sure Bruce Johnston is who people hope to hear about with respect to The Beach Boys.
Noam Chomsky-style salmon steaks. Sure!
Yummm mmmm mmmm mmmm
Possibly a war crime
Anyway: Am I obligated to try to make all 100+ recipes while listening to the artists?
We have chosen our first recipe: Joe Perry’s Vegetable Vindaloo.

It is not actually a vindaloo dish in the traditional sense, but is named that for the brand of curry powder Perry uses.
@paulaforbes this seems very much your thing
