It has come to a point in which I might start an ongoing thread on the neighborhood cats that walk past our apartment and the random names that @kimtastica and I have given them.
This is "Nice DJ." Why the name? Because unlike our cat (DJ Cuddles), Nice DJ is incredibly chill and relaxed. She was also the first cat to approach us when we moved into our current spot. So, Nice DJ.
Here& #39;s "Joey." He was a kitten just a few months ago. He likes to lounge on top of our neighbor& #39;s garage next to a tree. That elderly neighbor (who is at least 500 years old) is named Joseph. So, Joey.
Nice DJ (on the right) is in the middle of a secret meeting with her best friend "Tux" (on the left). The two of them frequently patrol the neighborhood together. Tux got his name because he is fancily dressed in all black and white.
This guy is named "Garfield" for obvious reasons. We don& #39;t see him nearly as often so maybe he& #39;s not from this block. Will report back if there are any lasagna-related shenanigans with him.
Garfield ran off after "Luna II" showed up. Luna II is Joey& #39;s mom. They used to be inseparable but Joey has gone I& #39;m-a-teenage-lone-wolf (cat?) on her. Looks exactly like DJ Cuddles& #39; mom named Luna, hence the name, Luna II. #Creativity
Now it& #39;s "Earl Grey" who is at the cat oasis on the top of the neighbor& #39;s garage. We& #39;ve been drinking a lot of tea lately and the cat is kinda grey, so, Earl Grey.

Some good news. Earl Grey was initially in charge of the garage roof two houses down before Joey kicked him out and became the new rooftop king. It appears as though they& #39;ve signed a peace treaty and are now napping together.
The garage roof two houses down has definitely become the most popular spot for the local cats. Here& #39;s Luna II and Joey.
Update: Turns out Joey is a girl and she recently gave birth to 6 kittens. Say hello to the new members of the North Park cat crew.
Kittens are a bit bigger now. The all black cats are known as the BCs (black cats) and the grey one is Bagels. Earl Grey hangs out a lot with Joey, so maybe he is the father?
Earl Grey is back on the garage roof next door. Great spot to catch nosy human neighbors who are trying to take pictures of you during your cat relaxation time.
We thought this was Tux for the longest time, but this guy has slightly different coloring on his nose. We call him Tux II (I know, I know, we gotta get more creative).
He drops by most nights and gets some treats or food when he visits.

Getting warmer these days. I definitely see the appeal of sleeping on the garage rooftop oasis next door. Plenty of shade and breeze for Earl Grey this afternoon.
