While we’re in #lockdown & people are self isolating or working from home, life goes on at the farm so here is the start of regular videos to show how we are going about our daily routines in producing food while caring for nature & the environment. #FarmLife #StayHomeSaveLives
A quick video of us drilling (planting) wheat this morning. Ian is driving and this is his isolation area for next 3 to 4 weeks. Lovely day here in Lincolnshire. #FarmLife

Apply fertiliser & controlling weeds with #glyphosate before planting the crop is nearly done. This is how we get the 2 products into the sprayer. The fertiliser is liquid which is more accurate with the amount of wind we seem to get now.

We also grow sugar beet which is processed by @BritishSugar at their factory 11 miles away at Newark. This is the start of soil preparation ready for planting. Also I explain our reliance on GPS controlling the machinery.

The drilling (planting of crops) continues apace in these ideal conditions. It’s a race against time as the yield at harvest of most crops decreases as each day passes. Also a little bit about the markets we sell into.

A brief look at the haylage we produce for local horse event yards and private stables. We produce around 700 x 320kg bales each year. We will have a lot to spare this year, please get in touch if interested.

This is how the bales are wrapped. Be prepared to be transfixed for 2 mins 5 seconds! Note the bales are slightly green instead of a sandy colour which hay would be.
