The ultimate thread on the refutations of the Deobandi elders BEFORE Imam Ahmad Rida Khan.

This will be last thread on the Deobandi's (hopefully).

Thread -
The reason why I'm focusing on pre Imam Ahmad Rida Khan is for 2 main reasons:

1) By mentioning refutations prior the Deobandi's CANNOT single out Imam Ahmad Rida Khan like they normally do. They make it look like he was alone against the Deobandi's which is not true.

And...
2) Deobandi's CANNOT label these scholars as 'Barelwi's' because these scholars refuted the Deobandi's before Imam Ahmad Rida Khan. So it is no longer a case of 'Barelwi' vs Deobandi but it is a case of Ahlus Sunnah vs Deobandi's.
Let's start off with Tahqiq ul Fatwa fi Ibtaali Tagwaa by Imam Fadl Haq Khayrabadi. This fatwa of KUFR was on Ismail Dehlawi and his book 'Taqwiatul Imaan'. It was signed by 17 major scholars in total.
This was written 32 years BEFORE Imam Ahmad Rida Khan was born. This was written in 1240AH, Imam Ahmad Rida Khan was born 1272AH. Lets take a look at some of the scholars who signed the Fatwa...
The endorsement of Rashid Al Deen, who was the student of Shah Abdal Aziz, Shah Rafi Al Deen, and Shah Abdul Qadir, the three sons of Shah Waliullah.

Click on the pictures for a clearer view.
Endorsement of Shah Makhsus Allah, the son of Shah Rafi Al Deen (above) and endorsement of Shah Muhammad Musa, the son of Shah Rafi Al Deen (above).
Endorsement of Sadr ul Deen Azurdah, grand Mufti of Delhi, and the teacher of Rashid Gangohi Deobandi and endorsement of Ahmad Saeed Mujjadadi, student of the sons of Shah Waliullah (above).
Next - Taqdees Ul Wakeel is a recorded transcript of a debate between Mawlana Ghulam Qasuri and Khalil Saharanpuri deobandi, regarding Saharanpuri's book Al Baraheen al qatiah.
The debate occured 3 years after the book was written, therefore 17 years BEFORE Hussam ul Haramayn.
Let's take a look at the several scholars who signed this book supporting Mawlana Ghulam Qasuri and opposing Saharanpuri.

This fatwa was endorsed by Haji Imdadullah Muhajjir Makki, the Shaykh (pir) of Rashid Gangohi and Qasim Nanotvi.
Mawlana Rahmatullah Kairanwi's signature. He is the founder of Madrassah Sawlatiyyah in Makkah Tul Mukaramah. He was appointed by Shaykh Zayni Dahlan as teacher in the Haram. He is still revered by Deobandi's today.
Mufti Abid Hussayn Maliki's signature in which he called for the hadd punishment. He endorsed Taqdees Ul Wakeel 17 years before Hussam ul Haramayn. A student of Shaykh Zayni Dahlan.
Mufti Babusayl Shafi's signature. He said, 'as for the writers of barahin and those who support it, then they resemble devils and are people of faithlessness and apostasy, if they are not kuffar with certainty'. He endorsed Taqdees Ul Wakeel 17 years before Hussam Ul Haramayn.
Shaykh Nur, the first teacher of Madrassah Sawlatiyyah also endorsed Taqdees Ul Wakeel.

*Important note, apparently Madrassah Sawlatiyyah is a 'Deobandi' Madrassah.
Shaykh Abdul Subhaan, the second teacher in Madrassah Sawlatiyyah, also endorsed Taqdees ul Wakeel.

Shaykh Muhammad Saeed, Shaykh Adham Husayn and Shaykh Ismat Ali, 3 teachers at Madrassah Sawlatiyyah, also endorsed Taqdees ul Wakeel. They all asked for publicised repentance.
Shaykh Salih Kamal also endorsed Taqdees ul Wakeel, also a student of Shaykh Zayni Dahlan. Shaykh Anwar Allah Faruqi also endorsed Taqdees ul Wakeel. He is the student of Abdul Halim Lucknawi and founder of Jamiah Nizamia.
Next - Shaykh Abdal Ghafoor's Ibtaal e Aghlaat e Qasimiyyah, a refutation of Qasim Nanotvi's Tahzeer Ul Naas 25 years BEFORE Hussam ul Haramayn was published. Ibtaal E Aghlaat e Qasimiyyah was published 1882. Hussam ul Haramayn 1907.
22 signatures in total Including...

Abdul Hayy Lucknawi. He is well accepted by Deobandi's.

*VERY IMPORTANT NOTE. Abdul Hayy Lucknawi initially did sign Tahzeer ul Naas but he signed this fatwa AFTER, making his endorsement of Tahzeer Ul Naas void.
Next - Qistaas fi Mawaazinati Athar Ibn Abaas a refutation of Qasim Nanotvi's Tazheer Ul Naas which was written 30 years BEFORE Hussam ul Haramayn. Qistaas 1295AH. Hussam ul Haramayn 1325AH. It was written by Muhammad Thanawi. (Not Ashraf Ali Thanwi). It has 51 signatories.
'this belief is absolutely not the belief of the people of islam, nevermind ahl al-sunnah; this person is NOT A MUSLIM and salah behind him is impermissible because he rejects the generic sending of the final prophet, which is established by explicitly certain Qur’anic texts'.
Next - Tahzeeb Ul Akhlaaq written by Syed Ahmad Khan of Aligarh, in it he talks about the fitna that was caused by Nanotvi's book Tazheer ul Naas. It mentions how scholars sent a query to Makkah and the fatwa was published in Egypt. 30-35 years BEFORE Hussam ul Haramayn.
He presents the names of many signatories but the prominent ones are:
- Shaykh Zayni Dahlan Shafi
- Mufti Abdullah Siraj Hanafi
- Shaykh Rahmat Allah Kayranwi

Actual scans of the signatories below.
This fatwa was written by Mufti Abdullah Siraj and signed by many. The trusthworthiness of Syed Ahmad Khan can be questioned but in Qistaas (above) it mentions the fatwa of Mufti Abdullah Siraj and the signature of Shaykh Kairanwi, this shows contemporaries knew of the fatwa.
Conclusion -

IF Imam Ahmad Rida Khan was alone in being against the Deobandi's then the Deobandi's had a leg to stand on but... as shown above so many scholars refuted the Deobandi's before Imam Ahmad Rida Khan. These are only some of the scholars, there are many more!
I haven't even mentioned
- Anwar-e-sati'ah by Mawlana Abdul Rampuri which was signed by MANY scholars.
- tanbih al juhhal by mawlana hafiz baksh
And more...
This thread should be sufficient enough to show you the misguidance of the Deobandi's.
