Looking for fun activities to do as a family?

I'm doing science demos every weekday at noon PT (live on Insta, then uploading the demos to YouTube).

I'm only doing demos that require materials that you (hopefully) already have at home.

The Science of Slime

You need:
1/3 cup Elmer's glue
1/8 cup water
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup shaving cream
3/4 tablespoon eye contact solution (that contains boric acid and sodium borate)

You need:
2 parts cornstarch
1 part water
The Science of Acid Base Reactions

You need:
Baking Soda (1 cup is great, but you can do this demo with any amount)
Lemon Juice (2-3 tablespoons will do the trick)
Food coloring + water (optional, just makes it pretty)
Cake Pan (or similar)
The Science behind the Candle in a Jar Experiment

You need:
A pan
Tea Candles (or any candle will work) + lighter
A jar/glass/vase that fits over the candle
Food coloring + Water

You need:
Plate
Milk (Whole Milk is best, but any type will do, even almond milk!)
Food coloring (watery is best, but if you only have gel-based, just add water to it)
Q-Tip
Dish Soap
