Racism is wrong, but when you criticise @realDonaldTrump and his right-wing supporters for using race to deflect criticisms of their own incompetence, you should also criticise the same thing happening in China.

In fact, #CCP is just as racist, if not more. https://twitter.com/paulmozur/status/1242305852398112768

The funny thing about China's effort to direct racially charged rhetoric at HKers is that they always want HKers to think they are Chinese. When you see things like this though, you really wonder if Chinese people actually thinks HKers are one of them. #CCPisRacist
The thing of the matter is this: if you criticise racism against Asians in the West while failing to highlight and condemn the xenophobic sentiment that the Chinese propaganda has managed to inflame within China, you are essentially helping Chinese propaganda.
As a liberal myself, I'm very disappointed by Western liberals lack of understanding of #CCP and how liberals in the West have played into the hands of #CCP, inadvertently or otherwise, instead of confronting China more forcefully.
Why aren't liberals in the West saying *anything* at all about things like this? Look, I hate @realDonaldTrump as much as you do, but Western liberals' failure to condemn CCP forcefully enough just reeks of hypocrisy.

Not sure if this belongs to this thread exactly, but that doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.
