A positive piece of news amidst all the negativity!

Being stuck at home during #Gibraltar #lockdown I heard chirping from outside. I went out to find a nest with some lovely eggs in our tree (maybe Twitter can help identify species)! Nature doesn’t know the meaning of lockdown

Mother blackbird been sat on the eggs most of the day. Managed to snap a pic in between shutters earlier today when she went to eat my dog Rusty’s food, who just sat there looking at her! She’s probably v happy about less noise on Main St!

Today we decided to put some pieces of bread and water at the other end of the small garden. After a couple hours she flew down and enjoyed the treats! Here’s a good aerial pic as she sat patiently in her nest.

Some positive news to try and brighten up your day a bit! This morning after the heavy rain, I went to check on the nest and found that one of the chicks had hatched! Here it is already begging for some food:

A few moments ago I went to check on how the chick was doing only to find that its sibling had also hatched! Fingers crossed now for the 3rd and final egg in the nest 🐣
