Fine, I’ll actually drum in this one.

Here’s me covering, “That Song” by @BouncingSoulsNJ
“Another Space Song” by @Failure

One of the coolest beats in a very trippy song. @kelliiscott always crushes this live.
Drank coffee and covering my new favorite song by Run The Jewels, “Yankee and The Brave (ep. 4)”

That crazy ending in “Songs For The Dead” by Queens of the Stone Age

I always thought, “I wonder why Dave Grohl slows down in that roll at the end?” Well, I know why now.

@qotsa
“Sorrow” by @badreligion.

One of my favorite intros which also happens to be a brain buster to play the proper(ish) way.

When Brooks left the band I got to audition for them. Didn’t get the gig, but it was one of the coolest days of my life.

Currently I’m #veryhireable
“Drag My Body” by @HotWaterMusic

George Rebelo is in my top 5 drumming influences and showed me punk drummers can have soul rather than just being speed machines.

Here’s a play along to our ( @theswellers) song, “On The Line”

Check out the full thing at http://instagram.com/jonodiener

We got to record this at The @BlastingRoom with Bill Stevenson of Descendents and the legendary Jason Livermore

Hope this cheers people up in such bummer times 🤘
“Expo ‘86” by Death Cab For Cutie using a hihat tambourine on my snare to create the effect.

Shout out to Jason McGerr for always creating atmospheric layers and ear candy with his drum parts.

Major reason I’m a sucker for @deathcabforcutie.
“Prime Meridian” - The Swellers

Wrote this song years ago as my There Is Nothing Left To Lose era Foo Fighters worship and it made it onto our record.

Jono’s Drum Homework

John Bonham/Dave Grohl fill, or as I like to call it, the “BAGADAGOO” fill.

Practice. Rock. Roll. Etc.
“Let Me In” - The Swellers

One of my favorite drum tracks I’ve ever done. Some of my saddest lyrics. This whole EP was when we got off a big label and I was processing a recent breakup that was actually a positive change.

Here’s a drum cover of @phoebe_bridgers song “Kyoto” but I put the beat to @jimmyeatworld’s “Lucky Denver Mint” in the second verse because I don’t know what day it is anymore.

“I’m The One” - @descendents

One of my all-time favorite bands and drummers (Bill Stevenson). I was laughing trying to comprehend the drum parts to some of their songs.

Enjoy the jam of all jams.
Pedro The Lion - “Indian Summer”

Everything from the dark and real subject matter to the interesting grooves made me fall in love with @davidbazan’s discography. Here’s a fun one from @pedrothelion.

“Bamboo Bones” - @againstme

Great song by a great band. I’ve been listening for years and they somehow keep getting better.

Thanks for always being cool to me @LauraJaneGrace @jimmyjames_b @SewardAndrew @AtomWillard

“Magnetic North” - @LessThanJake

These guys took my band under their wing before anyone acknowledged our existence. Every member is a solid person and still help me to this day.

Oh, and I wore their t-shirt in my sixth grade yearbook photo.
“Mu Empire” - Glassjaw

This band was my introduction to heavy music and this is one of my all-time favorite beats. I used to play this while sound checking and get a few people freaking out.

“No Son Of Mine” - @everytimeidie

My favorite song from this awesome band. They’re intense live, all individually wildly talented, and have always seemed to do things the “right way.”

“Becoming Self-Aware” - The Swellers

This one was requested by a bunch of people and probably my favorite song I’ve written. We’ve always been obsessed with Osker’s Idle Will Kill so this song reeks of that. Listen to that album.
