The History Of Femme Queen Performance : A THREAD.
Femme Queen Performance has been an important factor and foundation of Ballroom Culture since it began, a category reserved for Trans Women.
in this thread, i’m going to highlight and showcase femme queen vogue and our icons and legends in the category.

here’s Iconic Sinia Ebony giving us her definition of FQV.
The Art of Vogue has evolved over the last 40 Years from Pop, Spin-Dip (OldWay), To (New Way), and Vogue Fem (Elements).
there are two distinct ways of voguing, which is categorized into

Soft and Cunt, and Dramatics.
Liyah Richards, Sandy Ninja, Melissa Xtravaganza, Bianca Xtravaganza, Latisha Revlon, Alyssa Laperla and Kristina Richards were some of the first femme queen performers to emerge from the “Old Way” era of vogue.

She mentions Octavia St.Laurent, Danielle Revlon, Sandy Ninja and Bianca Xtravaganza.
Alyssa Laperla, Latisha Revlon, Jessica Ebony and Belinda Dupree carrying at the Paris Is Burning Ball (1991).
this video (1992) is a PERFECT example of the 80s/early 90s vogue style. the amazing @LaDiovanni pointed out how each of them focused on one element, even though the style wasn’t popular then.

Latisha Revlon, Alyssa Laperla, Kristina Richards, Liyah Richards (in order).
Iconic, Groundbreaking Liyah Richards giving you soft, feminine poses and lines. get into the spin-dip at the end.

Legendary Modayvia Labeija giving you graceful, soft and flexible hands. in my opinion, this is one of the greatest videos to ever grace femme queen archives.
Alyssa Laperla showcasing hands, catwalk and what it means to be soft and cunt. Alyssa is one of the most influential voguers in FQ performance.
Kristina Richards (2007). this is the BEST 10s i’ve ever seen, and this clip is the reason I vogue. through her expertise of Old Way, kristina’s performance adapted to the newer styles of vogue.
