Some noteable moments in my FM20 career thus far...
Didn’t realise it would be updated to the day even though I was starting in June 2019...meaning no Eriksen creativity.

But I have Bergwijn and a fully fit Lo Celso, silver linings.
Tried to implement a kamikaze, goals galore tactic that worked wonders for me in past FM’s.

Fair to say that pre-season didn’t exactly go to plan.
Made 3 signings:

Morgan Gibbs-White (£17.5m)
Jude Bellingham (£7.75m, loaned back)
Naci Ünüvar (£800K, riding to £1.6m)

Levy actually dipped beyond the budget and handled MGW for me, he sees the vision.
No big departures, just loans. Waiting until January before moving anyone permanently.

Bellingham > Brum
Parrott > West Brom
Skipp > Luton
Tanganga > Burton
Rodel Richards > Solihull Moors
Dilan Markanday > Grimsby

Rose & Clarke already loaned to Newcastle & QPR.
- Kane started strong, 5 goals in his first 3 games but then 4 blanks in a row (1 CL game)

- Gets injured away to City but still managed to shithouse a 1-0

- Alli at No.9 for 2 games, bags 3

- Kane returns - CL hattrick, then 8 in his next 3
Jesus blessed me in the CL, 2nd seed in this group:

Zenit
Spurs
Galatasary
FC København

But I’m still Spurs, you never know.
Fast forward, 6 games, 6 wins.

Finest being 9-0 against FC København.
League form has been looking good, at worst 2 draws away to Burnley and Chelsea.

Also took 1-0 and 2-0 away L’s at Liverpool and United respectively tho...
Carabao Cup run was on. 3-0 win at St Mary’s with the B-team, shithoused another 1-0 away to Chelsea with the B-team.

Played a ‘stronger’ team against Brentford and went through on pens...despite being 2-0 up 😂
Liverpool slapped me in the semi-final 1st leg tho, 3-1 away.
Consistent W’s in the Prem including 1-0 away at Arsenal, the board didn’t like the 1-1 draw away to Palace tho 😒

Couple transfer updates before second leg at home to Liverpool...
Forgot to mention.

Bought Jonathan Panzo from Monaco, currently loaned to Cercle Brugge.

The club transfer is:
- sign English players
- no signings over 30
- sign players under the age of 22

This is normal for me on FM, bar exceptionally extenuating circumstances.
And guess who won the Balon d’Or ahead of Mané and Messi... 👀
Going for the Brexit 4-4-2 with a PnP twist.

Aurier, Sánchez, Sissoko, Ndombele, Bergwijn all starting.
Naby Keïta 0-1 and 1-4 down on aggregate.

Toby header on the stroke of halftime to give us hope, 2-4.

Sesseegnon and Moura for Sissoko and Bergwijn.
Sessegnon gave Trent the maddest headache and somehow bagged two in 15 minutes, nearly a last minute hattrick but Kane missed the rebound.

4-4 on aggregate.

PENALTY SHOOTOUT.
When Cavani missed, I thought it was all over.
Oh yeah, I signed Cavani for £5.5m and Levy isn’t having it 😂

- over 30
- not British
- £215K p/w

Only a one year deal for now and he’s still bagged 6 in 4 ☝🏾
Chronologically this could have been better but anyway.

Levy was feeling the kid so gave me £64m out of nowhere before Christmas.

Thought about signing a replacement for Son who did his cruciate ligaments (9 months) but Dele, Bergwijn and Naci are doing their ting on the left.
Had bids accepted for Alex Grimaldo with Ben Davies going the other way but Davies rejected their contracts 3 times 😒

Took him out of the deal and bought Grimaldo outright to come end of the season. £47.5m is as cheap as he will ever be, release clause was £52m.
Davies offered out to clubs.

Jiangsu, Everton, Brighton and Newcastle all interested.

He chose Newcastle...to be a squad player behind Rose and Willems 🤷🏾‍♂️
Aurier is doing his thing at RB and Foyth/Dier have filled in well when called upon.

But I want the future England team to have as many of my players as possible, it’s time to unsettle Max Aarons.
Max Aarons has handed in a transfer request the night before deadline day.

Norwich want £35m, I have £24m left...

(In the meantime, Tanganga became too good for Burton. Brought him back and loaned him to Swansea)
We got Max Aarons over the line, £33m and loaned back until the end of the season.

The board aren’t too pleased about the dipping over again but I know I’m doing a fire sale in the summer. Hopefully I win something meaningful to appease them.
Drawn Atleti in the CL L16.

Onto February.
Defensive 4-2-3-1, all going well until VAR gave an 80th minute penalty. Costa 1-0.

Cavani, Sessegnon, Moura > ON
Sissoko, Winks, Bergwijn < OFF

Saul tactical foul on Moura, freekick cleared, Moura wins it back and finds Cavani near post in the 93rd minute.

1-1, scenes.
United in the Carabao Cup Final.

They beat me 2-0 in the league so this is my data analysts telling me to run with a 4-4-2 - as United are vulnerable to it.
Listen to your data analysts.
CAVANI LAST MINUTE WINNER ARE YOU MADDDDDD!!!!!
Nah man, 17 shots, 8 ontarget. I BATTERED them this game and was still sweating.

Morata made it 0-1 on the stroke of half time. 75 mins came, 4–2-4 all out attack.

Aurier Hail Mary back post and Kane slotted before Cavani initiated mayhem.
My U18’s just beat United 1-0 in the U18 Prem Division Final. My boys 🥺
- 9 games left
- 3 points clear of Liverpool with a game in hand
- FA Cup and CL QF’s pending
That said I’ve still got Wolves (7th) away and Arsenal, United, Liverpool and City at home in the league...as well as City in the FA Cup QF.
Arsenal (H)
Newcastle (A)
Leicester (H)
United (H)
Wolves (A)
Liverpool (H)
Bournemouth (A)
City (H)
Watford (A)
Welcome to the North London Derby.
2-0 up in 18 minutes, Kane.

Cruising the whole game until Lamela just gave away a penalty on 83 minutes on VAR.

Pépé slotted.
2-1.
Less about me, let’s talk about managerial movements and big transfers this season.
Newcastle:
Steve Bruce sacked, Stevie G signed

Watford:
Nigel Pearson sacked, Fran Escribà signed

Leicester:
Brendan Rodgers sacked, Pellegrini signed

Palace:
Hodgson sacked, Shaun Derry (?) caretaker
Chelsea signed Memphis for £69m 😶

Newcastle were bottom, signed Florentine Luis for £61m...and are still bottom.

Liverpool signed Chiesa for £53m

...and Lyon signed *checks notes* Lingard?
Champions League QF draw.

Looks like I’m going back to Madrid.
Relegation battle update:

14th Sheff Utd - 31pts
15th Burnley - 29pts
16th Soton - 28pts
17th Palace - 26pts
18th Watford - 25pts (1 game in hand)
19th Brighton - 24pts (2 games in hand)
20th Newcastle - 21pts (1 game in hand)
1-0 down to City in the FA Cup QF.

Sessegnon roasted Cancelo and best Ederson near post to equalise.

2 minutes later my yout’dem Harvey White with a deep cross and Sanchez with the header, 2-1.

Silva dribbled through me like he was back at 2009 Valencia and slotted, 2-2.
ZINCHENKO HAS FOULED DELE IN THE 112th MINUTE.

VAR.

PENALTY.
...Dele missed.
C’MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!
International break pending, time to fly out to Germany and watch Sancho in person.

Get the media talking.
“Orumen seen watching Sancho”

“A well-placed source closed to Sancho has claimed that the player desperately wants to join Tottenham and appreciates that Tottenham’s Chief Scout has been to watch him on no fewer than 5 occasions so far”.
Went to the Santiago Bernabeu without Harry Kane, took the risk as he was feeling jaded so giving him a proper rest.

Lost 2-1, but a Son forced Sergio Ramos own goal on his first game back from a 9 month cruciate ligament injury.
Beat Leicester in the league and FA Cup semi-final either side of the CL QF 2nd leg.

Evidently, Jamie Vardy did not bring any Charlie to the party (he did bag in the first game tho).
We had Madrid on the ropes with a 2-1 win in 90 minutes but certain man scored a header in the 114th minute to send us out.

This is him metaphorically shitting on my parade 😭
Anyway. Focusing on the domestic treble.

In 2nd but level on points with Liverpool with 2 games in hand....we’ve got Liverpool next.
2-2 at home, I’ll take that.

Both qualified for the CL and I’ve now got Bournemouth and Wolves away followed by City and United back to at home.

Guard of honour by United? 👀
Lamela has handed in a transfer request as he feel like he’s achieved all he can at the club.

Gleefully accepted, offered him out, Villa want him...and I want Grealish 😏
I don’t know where these p’s are coming from but Levy game me £90m 🤤

That’s meant to be Sancho money because I refuse to let him go to Arsenal.

The plan is to bag Grealish, hold a fire sale and splash on Sancho.
Ah shit, they’re both at their best at LW...
Villa accepted £25m plus Lamela for Grealish....and Lamela rejected their contract...twice...even though he’s handed in a transfer request 🙃
General league update.

My games in hand are United and City back to back.

I would love nothing more than for Wolves to get 5th over Arsenal...but Wolves still have to play the Top 2 😭
Despite seemingly poor results, Stevie G has taken Newcastle to a point off safety. Very silently won 5 league games since 28th December.

Southampton however? No win in 9.
Watford are by no means safe.

Relegation 6 pointer against Palace and then who do they have on the last day?
Barca are interested in Alderweireld.

JV5 is 33 and I could get another quality year or two out of Toby.

Sanchez and Foyth are only 23 & 21 so we still need an uncle who’s on the verge of Team Leader status.

But if they offer good cash...
City game was tight, lost 1-0 to an 80th minute Sané freekick. One more game in hand, got to do United like I did them in the Carabao Cup Final.

This is my data analyst reminding me that we pammed them 3-0 with a Brexit 4-4-2, so just do the same thing.
My Data Analyst > Your Data Analyst.
3 points separate the top 2

2 points separate the bottom 5.

The title and relegation battles are going right down to the wire....AND IT’S LIVE!
Southampton - Chelsea (A)
Newcastle - Palace (H) (Game of the Day)
Brighton - City (A)
Watford - Spurs (H)

[Liverpool - Burnley (H)]

This is literally Title Race 2011/12 and Survival Sunday 2004/5 in one.
Relegation predictions:

16th - Newcastle
17th - Watford
18th - Palace
19th - Brighton
20th - Southampton
We are at half time on Survival Sunday.

AS. THINGS. STAND.
I have thrown away a 3-1 lead and Liverpool are winning 5-0.

Best Sheffield United 3-0, Domestic Treble ✅

United finished 7th but beat CKSA in the Europa League final (after knocking out Arsenal in the semis)

Thankfully Madrid beat Chelsea 1-0 in the Champions League final.
Time to enjoy the Euros and the transfer window.

P.S. Pep has been sacked 👀
WHO will win the Euros?

WHERE will Pep go next?
