Good evening folks. Today is a momentous day and none of you even know it yet. In this time of great boredom, this is the start of the most thrilling thread of your lives. My beverage review thread starts here. Strap in, it’s going to be a wild one.
Beverage 1: Fentimans Curiosity Cola

A Grove classic, if you know you know. Sweet but simple, if not a little hipster. A fine alternative to your run of the mill Coca Cola or Pepsi. Delightfully refreshing. Also has a dog on the bottle. A hot start.

8/10.
Beverage 2: Sainsbury’s Smooth Orange Juice.

A fine elixir that coupled nicely with my breakfast - chocolate crunchy nut clusters for those interested, I know you crazy folks are out there! Went down extremely well, my favourite supermarket OJ. Set me up nicely for today.

8/10.
What’s this? A surprise review?

Beverage 3: Pimm’s & Lemonade

Tried my mums Pimm’s. Was fully ready to hate it. It wasn’t actually too bad, though nothing spectacular whatsoever. Feel incredibly posh now. Don’t like it.

6/10.

P.S. stay at home please.
Beverage 4: Rubicon Orange & Mango Sparkling Water & Fruit Juice.

Simple. Refreshing. Fruity. A fine blend of orange & mango that makes the taste buds tingle. Only 15 calories. Suitable for a primed athlete like my good self.

7/10.
This one’s for you @CalzyCraig.

Beverage 5: Coca Cola.

A classic. You all know it. Sweet. Tasty. Goes well with a big fat wedge of FM. Does make your teeth feel hairy if you drink too much of it, however.

9.1/10.

That’s right, I’m bringing in decimals, baby. We move.
Beverage 6: The Little Italian Rosé

Pleasantly surprised by this one. Not a huge wine fan unlike @JMcCombie66_ but this was somewhat bearable. Could see myself knocking it back when I’m old and grey. Not quite the infamous El Mazo of @HolburnBar, however.

6.7/10.
Beverage 7: Fentimans Rose Lemonade.

Back to back pink, baby. Poor in comparison to their Curiosity Cola. Tasted funny, kind of what biting a plant would taste like I’d imagine. Does have a dog on the bottle again though which is its only saving grace.

5.4/10.
Good evening & welcome #CiderSaturday

Beverage 8: Magners Dark Fruits

It’s sweet. It’s fruity. It’s not quite it’s Strongbow compatriot, but maniacs has raided the shelve so I made do. Too sweet if anything but pleasant with Cards Against Humanity in the Virtual Pub.

7.5/10.
#CiderSaturday Round 2.

Beverage 9: Thistly Cross Cider.

Tasty and fruity once again. A nice change. A little hipster, however. From a bottle which is quite nice. The last of 6 so must be half decent. Stronger than the magners. I can get behind it. Vamos.

7.6/10.
Beverage 10: Motherwell Away’s Electric Melon MD20/20.

Was decanted into a plastic bottle in preparation. Best flavour imo but still nae affa fine. Does the job. Fruity. Funny. Reminds me of seeing NG in Inverness before avoiding death on a swinging bridge.

6.4/10.
Beverage 11: Irn Bru.

I ken it, you ken it, Pasty Kensit. It’s a classic. It’s everyone’s favourite hangover cure. It’s fizzy. It’s ginger. It’s phenomenal. It would have scored higher if they hadn’t changed the recipe. It’s still the best yet.

9.5/10.
Beverage 12: Old & Unimproved Irn Bru.

This has caused much controversy, but following taste tests against the current recipe, I believe it to be superior. Somehow it doesn’t taste as sweet. Stronger, classic Irn Bru flavour. Goes well with the best film ever, Rain Man.

9.6/10.
Beverage 13: Appletiser.

Everyone pronounces it different. Very sweet. A treat. Annoying that the bottles are so small. Reminds me of when I used to go to the Northern Bowling Club before Aberdeen games with my Granda, dad, brother, uncle and his mates as a kid. Lovely.

8.1/10.
Beverage 14: Oasis Citrus Punch.

It’s sweet, fruity and refreshing. My personal favourite Oasis flavour. Shares a name with the best band to have ever existed. Brings back great memories/horrific flashbacks of S3 science lessons with @EuanMcD22. Solid.

May have forgot to post this last night...

Beverage 15: Fentimans Ginger Beer.

Very cool. Very gingery. Very hipster. Very dog on bottle. I like it. Though possibly too gingery. Coughed a couple times from its sheer STRENGTH 💪🏻

7.4/10.
Beverage 16: Coke Zero.

It’s decent. Tastes okay but not as nice as regular Coca Cola or the 🐐 Pepsi Max. Doesn’t make your teeth feel hairy at least. 0 calories for primed athletes like myself.

7.6/10.
Beverage 17: Kraken & Coke.

Going very well with virtual @HolburnBar. Tastes quite fine. Better than Captain Morgan’s? Could be. Bought for my birthday so even better. 40%. Vamos.

7.7/10.
Beverage 18: Magners Dark Fruits & Electric Melon MD 20/20.

A concoction. Didn’t want to drink the MD 20/20 as it’s been in a plastic bottle since Motherwell away. Tastes not bad rather surprisingly. It’ll do.

6.9/10.
Beverage 19: Red Bull.

It’s quite tasty. Don’t think many of the energy drinks taste any different. Most reputable so I’ve got to put respect on its name. I know some of you are worried by the way but never fear, I’m not drinking it at this ungodly hour on school night!

7.8/10.
Beverage 20: FRAGRANT Orange, Mango & Passion Fruit Juice.

It’s sweet. It’s fruity. Tropical vibez. Despite the virus, it does feel like I’m on a beach (maybe Balmedie though). Thicc. Thiccer than your regular fruit juice. I like it.

7.69/10.
From last night.

Beverage 21: Lucozade Energy Orange.

They may have change the recipe but it’s still delicious. Can’t really remember what it used to taste like anyway. Rarely ever used for it’s purpose, energy, however. Quality though. Can’t really fault it tbh.

8.4/10.
FAO @AndrewMcRae2001.

Beverage 22: Southern Comfort & Lemonade (aka So Co Lemo).

Well, what can I say? It’s the creme de la creme of the spirit world. There’s little to add to that. It’s sublime. You can’t argue with it. Sweet. Little bit of heat. Delightful.

8.9/10.
Beverage 23: Fanta Fruit Twist.

A nice blend of fruit to create a tasty concoction. Rather tropical. Very pleasant on the old taste buds. Much better than the regular, boring orange flavour. Solid.

8.1/10.
Beverage 24: Thistly Cross Cider Original (last one was traditional).

Not sure what the difference is other than strength. This one is 6.2%, other was 4.4%. Can taste that. More of an alcohol flavour. Not great in a cider. Not as pleasant or refreshing. Still decent.

7.2/10.
Beverage 25: Schweppes Lemonade.

Now flat but it has been open since Thursday so not surprised. Very tasty. Refreshing. First lemonade I ever tried when I was tiny in my back garden. It’s simple but a classic.

7.8/10.
Beverage 26: 7Up (free).

Not as nice as Sprite. Not as nice as Schweppes. Maybe the non-sugar free version is better. Refreshing though. Used to drink it on holiday in Cyprus. Goes well with keftedes, I’ll you that for nothing! Tasty enough. 20% bigger too.

7.5/10.
Beverage 27: Suchard Hot Chocolate.

It’s hot. Its frothy. It’s not very chocolatey. Shite.

3.7/10.
Beverage 28: Pepsi.

This is a controversial one for many of you I’m sure, but I’m going to say it. It’s better than Coca Cola. That is all.

9.2/10.
