Day 1: Woke up with a mild dry cough which became more pronounced and less controllable throughout the day. My temperature has risen from the mid 97s to 99.6. Minor body aches in the evening. Under normal circumstances, none of this would even phase me.
Obviously, I'm self-isolating. I'm also choosing not to reach out to family and friends just yet. If my symptoms progress, I'll tell them in the morning. I'd rather they get a good night's sleep before I totally freak them out. Glad I have you guys to share it with, though.
Day 2: My temp is now 100.3. Dry cough is still mild but becoming painful. I'm fatigued, but not debilitated. More like a haze. Headache and body aches are pronounced. Under normal circumstances, I would call this “under the weather" and still show up for work.
Speaking of which, I have work-from-home video conferences all day that I can’t afford to cancel. Gotta pay the bills, so I’ve put on my game face and I guarantee no one will notice. I still haven’t told any friends or family. Maybe this evening.
Day 3: Fever is gone, no body aches, and only a very mild cough. I feel fine. Maybe I'm an asymptomatic carrier. Maybe this was all nothing. Either way, I’m starting a 14 day self-quarantine. (Unless I get an opportunity to cough on Mitch McConnell. That I won’t pass up.)
Day 7: Still playing whack-a-mole with a low-grade fever. Still coughing. Still fatigued. Still achey. Can't smell or taste anything. The grunge in my chest feels semi-permanent, and I've lost ten pounds. Also, a colleague tested positive, so I'm all but sure I've got the Rona.
Day 9: Tested positive for Coronavirus.
Day 13: Finally starting to feel better. Smell and taste have returned. Still weak and dizzy, but I can take full breaths again. Feeling VERY lucky.
