So I just want to let out on why I'm strongly attached to #TharnType & #MewGulf (of course) since the first time I've watched it. It's in A THREAD. I've only crossed my path with this series in January. Just after the last episode was aired. Here it is:
TTTS brought up heavy issues in the first part episodes: LGBTQIA, pedophiles, rape, traumatic childhood experience, mass media exposure, social media bullying. All of them piled up to showed and built up the main character's psychological and mental development.
I appreciate highly the scriptwriter & the director of TTTS in creating the storyline, managing the details, & arranging each episode as a phase for the development of main characters' relationship. I like how the episodes were divided into two stages, before & after their
consent acceptance into relationship. In the second stage, the lovey-dovey couple has to deal with typical couple's problems (communication, jealousy, past romance, trust, third party, family), with much heavier substance to them.
So, we really have to pay really close attention to ALL details shown in this serie. Despite the bl romance label, #TharnType contained the most and heaviest issues for gay couple to overcome. All of the production staffs & actors really work hard to perform the details.
Of course I was also drawn to #MewGulf chemical attraction portrayed in their intimate actions towards each other. I've watched a lot of BLs before, & theirs have a high standar. They had never failed to naturally show their phases of closeness, which is very important for the
storyline. TTTS really challenged #MewGulf as actors to break down all their inhibitions & deeply immerse in their characters in order to breath life into #TharnType and bring the project into public attention.
For me personally, #MewGulf has succeeded to intrigued me in learning about them as their own person and searching to know more about TTTS as a whole project, which is NEVER happened, & I had watched & enjoyed a lot of series, movies from different countries
So, it really is a mind blow for me when I learned that MOST of those involved in the serie are first timer for this kind of project, such as the producer, the director, and several actors (including #GulfKanawut as the leading actor) & staffs.
I want to add another detail to praise TTTS' storyline in portraying a couple's relationship. That is in real life there is always something to deal with, no matter how long it has been going on. In the special episode, they still have yet to resolve parent's acceptance issue.
One thing that I strongly disagree in the serie is how it dealt with with the biggest antagonist (Lhong), as it present a heavy issue again, rape. Despite an effort to delve into Lhong's character to understand his reasons, his crime should have been punished according to law.
Understand his reasons is one thing. However, as a legal adult (18/19 yo) he has to be responsible for his chosen acts. Rape is a crime, so he (as initiator) and the three executors should be held responsible in front of the law. I think, this is the only crucial flaw here
Even if TTTS is a romance, it should have been treated accordingly, then this would be a perfect BL story. I can only hope to those involved in creating the storyline, in the future projects will address these kind of issues in a more serious note.
Nevertheless, #TharnType the series is still one the most recommended both in its genre and as a TV show/series. For me, it is still the only series that I watched more than once and will be a standard for the other in its genre
Forgive me for any mistakes in grammars, spellings and terms. English is not my first language. 💚💚💚💙💙💙🖤🖤🖤
Ahahaha... And I found one mistake: I meant 'chemistry' not 'chemical attraction' . 😅😅
