Day 1
Andy Cyrus
Left Full Back Signed from Crystal Palace in 1997. Played 21 games that season before his release in the summer. Wikipedia lists him as being 4ft 8in, maybe why it didnt work out for him

Day 2
Barry Corr
Forward signed after his release from Swindon Town. 34 appearances, 3 goals, 3 red cards. Cupped his ears to the away support after a late goal at Stadium MK to emphasise how much he hated us all. Impact Player 👊

Day 3
Danny Bailey
Over 200 appearance in two spells for the industrious midfielder. Was once randomly dressed as a native indian to perform a rain dance for the cameras in the hope of getting a 3rd cup tie on. Very different social climate in 1994

Day 4
Steve Basham
Much under rated target man, linked well with whoever he partnered. Played a huge role in Jamie Mackie's rapid development. Part of both of our back to back Promotion squads. 54 appearances and 7 goals in his two years at SJP

Day 5
Jamie Campbell
58 appearances and Player of the Year in 2001. Eventually released after a fight with a team mate, rare for a player to show any fight in this era. We were relegated the following season.

Day 6
In an era of little to get excited about, Christian Roberts stood alone. Fantastic player. Pace, skill and a wonderful finisher. Not dissimilar to Ollie Watkins. 79 appearances and 18 goals before moving on to Bristol City

Day 7
Lee Bradbury
5 goals in 14 appearances during an excellent loan spell. Was available to sign for a small fee but we couldnt afford it, he returned to Portsmouth and 15 months later joined Manchester City for £3 million. Mid 90s ECFC in a nutshell

Day 8
Tommy Doherty
A case of might have been. Had he signed a few years earlier he could have been a real favourite, sadly his career was winding down. Excellent ball player, tough tackler, the closest we came to replacing Matt Gill. Loved him

Day 9
Mark Came
A Player of the Year Award picked up in his two seasons at SJP, a fantastic defender. Memorably scored twice to put us two up at Home Park, before we threw it away second half in Classic City fashion. As no nonsense as the come, or came
#ecfc Forgotten Heroes 🔴⚪
Day 10
Noel Blake
Comfortably the toughest player I've seen in red and white, could break you in half with a look. Strong defender who went on to manage the club at a time when that job was incredibly tough. Spent 7 years working with the FA after City
#ecfc Forgotten Heroes 🔴⚪
Day 11
Chris Fry
Creative winger who joined City after picking up Colchester's POTY Award the season before. Bravely tried to bring about the reemergence of the Mullet in the late 90s, sadly with limited success
#ecfc Forgotten Heroes 🔴⚪
Day 12
Glenn Cronin
Combative midfielder who dignifiedly captained the side through a hideous relegation, but also as the club rose from the ashes of the Russell and Lewis era. Overcame a series of injuries to have a successful spell back in Ireland
#ecfc Forgotten Heroes 🔴⚪
Day 13
Bertie Cozic
It's a squad game and Bertie was the prime example of that. Dependable when called upon during his 5 years at the club and achieved two promotions.
#ecfc Forgotten Heroes 🔴⚪
Day 14
Sufyan Ghazghazi
Represented England at youth and schoolboy level but failed to make the step up. A player such as him, in the way we develop Academy players now, would surely have faired better. Sadly, one of a few who could fit that category
#ecfc Forgotten Heroes 🔴⚪
Day 15
Santos Gaia🇧🇷
An Old Trafford hero. Scored a memorable goal at, then Premier League, Charlton in the FA Cup. Arrived with a good football pedigree but Conference football soon pummeled that out of him. Returned to the South West with Truro in 09
#ecfc Forgotten Heroes 🔴⚪
Day 16
Gary Alexander
Perhaps due to only being a loanee, he doesn't get discussed enough. 16 goals in 37 as a 20 year old, playing in a fairly average side as well. Our Player of the Year that season and went on to have an excellent career in the EFL
#ecfc Forgotten Heroes 🔴⚪
Day 17
Paul Tisdale
Cultured midfielder who had a successful spell on loan from Bristol City in 1997, playing 10 and scoring 1. Went on to have a spell in management, either successfully or as a bald fraud. Mixed reviews available on twitter. com
#ecfc Forgotten Heroes 🔴⚪
Day 18
Ashley Bayes
127 Appearances for City, including Player of the Year in 1999. Good shop stopper. Saved a penalty in a FA Trophy Semi against City to knock us out, seemed fair after he spent the second half having Paul Buckle songs sang at him
#ecfc Forgotten Heroes 🔴⚪
Day 19
Mark Chamberlian
Not many former England internationals have played for City, yet Mark finished his career in Devon with 59 appearances & 4 goals. I'm assuming his son Alex developed his love for the game whilst sat in the Old Grandstand at SJP
#ecfc Forgotten Heroes 🔴⚪
Day 20
Paul Birch
Harley and Noble would follow, but my love for a classy midfielder started with Paul Birch. Wonderful stylish player who scored some fine goals in his single season at SJP. Sadly, Paul passed away in 2009 from Cancer aged 46.
#ecfc Forgotten Heroes 🔴⚪
Day 21
Lee Elam
Hat trick on his City debut against the club he had just signed from, played at Wembley twice, promoted once and got head butted by an opposition manager after a game... he was only here 15 months. What a guy
#ecfc Forgotten Heroes 🔴⚪
Matt Oakley
Not sure his contribution at SJP got the recognition it deserved. Played 160 games for City, midfield, defence... didn't matter, just a quality, intelligent footballer. Had he stayed in 2018, would've surely been a contender for the top job
